Pros

No pros to speak of

Cons

Very little training but super high expectations without any clear direction. Tons of micro management from owners, yet they don't know how to communicate properly with their staff. They never thank or show any gratitude toward their staff despite the high-stress work environment/longer hours at certain times of the year. Lots of turnover, almost no one stays for long. They also don't pay the interns which, while legal, is completely unethical. Also pretty clear the one or two positive reviews left on here were written by management.

***Update, I see the person posting here updated their review to mention that in-fact, their allegation of non-payment is NOT illegal. Smart move since we know exactly who this is and don't take these kinds of allegations lightly. In terms of it being unethical - actually, IF someone works for us it is ALWAYS either WITH pay or in exact alignment with their school. We NEVER have anyone work for us "for free". If they don't want to work as an intern with us in exchange for school credit as part of their program, there is nobody forcing them to do so. All is clear and spelled out prior to any internships. :) Actually what IS clear here is that the same person posting has just not moved on from their perceived experience at our company, which is really unfortunate for them. We won't repeat ourselves again on many of their repeated laments as we stand behind our business and are very proud of the team members who work for us now - again - more than 50% of our current workforce have been with us now for more than 9 years so it's hard to say why anyone would think that there is a "high turnover". In terms of internships, actually we have kept many interns on in paid positions once the approved internships through their accredited schools are complete. There is no scenario where anyone works for us outside of an approved program for free so the claim of any illegal activity is laughable but also completely inaccurate. This person should also be careful as it's also potentially a legal issue if they are making the claim of any illegal activity as that is slanderous. The bottom line here is that some people just aren't able to work pro-actively on their own. It also seems illogical how someone could "micro-manage" (which by definition means is very involved), yet not be able to "communicate properly" with their staff. In terms of not thanking employees - it's too bad that this person clearly missed out on the team lunches that we regularly have provided and cards and other treats that we ALWAYS have in whenever someone hits a milestone or to celebrate someone's time with us. Perhaps some people just require affirmation on a daily basis, but that isn't the fault of the business, they need to look inward. As for high-stress, we are primarily a wedding magazine - that is not stressful. We do have a smaller team than we would like due to Covid however expectations are never unreasonable and nobody is ever required to work beyond 9:30 to 5:30 Monday to Friday except for about 3 days a year IF we are a little tight on the production deadline for one of our publishing dates. These days or extra hours if required are ALWAYS explained in advance and lieu days are given. There is no scenario where we expect someone to just work extra days/hours without any compensation. Also totally laughable and COMPLETELY inaccurate. As for the positive reviews, we are thankful that some have had a great experience with our company!

Pros

I loved working at WedLuxe. Management was clear from the beginning that the reason that they hired me was because they thought that I was the best candidate and they wanted to place trust in me that I’d just handle the position that I was hired for. Great feeling! Management are totally approachable unlike some other layered corporations and if I ever had any questions they were there to help. There are a lot of really helpful systems and resources which made my experience really painless. My partner got a job outside of WedLuxe’s office area so I had to reluctantly relocate otherwise I would loved to have stayed longer. Colleagues were super nice - nothing but a great time working for WedLuxe! If you’re pro-active, smart and a go-getter who is actually helping move the company along you’ll be happy here.

Cons

Not for anyone who walks into an office in the morning and expects others to tell you what to do!

Pros

I can't think of any.

Cons

- Minimal training. - Vague instructions on tasks. - They rarely offer constructive feedback yet they are micro-managers. - Upper management is rude and toxic to employees.

This is another comment likely by the same person who is just trolling this account now that we are posting for a new position at the company. Upper management work hands-on with all employees and are certainly not "rude and toxic". It would have been more helpful if the person posting had actually gone into more detail but that's a bit hard to do when the statement is totally inaccurate. This person posting is the same one who just wasn't getting it - but instead of just realizing that it wasn't a fit, is trying to sabotage our business by posting these similar kinds of comments meant to try and discredit the company. It's a shame that Glassdoor allows these kinds of anonymous and slanderous posts as they really aren't helpful to anyone and yet Glassdoor never allows any sort of forum or mechanism for a business to really refute what this anonymous person is saying. Regardless, we are 100% comfortable in our management style and are really enjoying the team that we have now. I really hope this person posting finds some inner peace and can just move on and realize that working for us just wasn't a fit for them. Continuing to lash out really isn't helping them at this point.
