After two weeks of training, you are left ALONE at said location. Even if you're not prepared enough to be left alone. They do this because they say some locations are not as busy so there is no point in having two nurses scheduled. When I mean alone, you are the only person in the office. Patients who need physicals done are done by the nurse and then speak with the doctor over zoom. There is a zoom call that's on all day where all the locations are logged in, so if you have any questions, there is someone who can answer for you. But this doesn't help when you are by yourself with 30+ patients to see, some of which need multiple services done that can take up to 30 minutes. There is so much to take care of when you're alone, that there is no time to do any charting until after closing time. You will not be working 9-5 as they advertise. It's more like 9-7, or even later. There are only a couple of days where you get out a little after closing time.
Need to use the restroom? Good luck. You'll have to get everyone to wait outside since you're the only person in the office and anybody can walk behind the counter.
If you're lucky enough to be scheduled with a second nurse and it's extremely busy, you are forced to take lunch by a certain hour, or else you'll get written up. Imagine if someone left you alone while it's busy.
If a nurse calls off who was scheduled at a location alone and a replacement can't be found, then the store is closed for the day. This means that all the people who have appointments and walk-ins are left inconvenienced and frustrated. This also means that the closest store to the closed location is going to be swamped with work since these people need their services done ASAP. There was a nurse who saw 40+ patients in a day by themselves and had to stay at least 3-4 hours late charting because of this.
The point is, the amount of work that's done should NOT be for ONE nurse or even two. There need to be at least two or three nurses scheduled but that's not something they want to pay for.
If you're thinking about it, good luck. I suggest you turn the other way. There are better opportunities.
