Pros

They have a new CEO who has made some positive changes including increased salaries, annual monetary bonuses, 4/10 or 9/80 schedule, new clinic cell phones, quarterly coffee and donuts with executive staff in order to give all employees a chance to converse with upper management. They have a genuine interest in serving the community although they are DMH contracted. You can get some great experience towards licensure. You will earn your hours quickly.

Cons

They are DMH contracted so that means lots of paperwork and potential for burn out. Productivity requirement is high but no different than other DMH contracted agencies. Lots of focus on contact hours (number of clients seen per week) and billing. If you’re not a self starter, they WILL micromanage you. Be ready to travel a lot!

Awful Clinical Supervisor

Pros

Good Benefits, Hardworking Colleagues, Great Population Serviced, Some Departments Support Team Cohesiveness

Cons

Billing! A clinical supervisor that is condescending, arrogant, mean spirited, unsupportive, and unwilling to demonstrate patience and KINDNESS with therapist interns who seek respectful guidance. Expect disciplinary action if she is dissatisfied in any way. Expect to be reminded that you are deemed inferior. Expect an inability to ever feel like you are doing your job correctly. Expect a leadership style that is dismissive of the provider's desire to be treated with dignity and respect.. Expect to develop anxiety and walk on egg shells. Expect your voice to go unheard due to a facade of excellent clinical supervision all the while coupled with a high dosage of degradation. Expect Upper Management to disregard your complaints.RUINS MORALE... RUINS YOUR CONFIDENCE IN ENHANCING YOUR CLINICAL ABILITIES....

Pros

You get your hours toward licensure quickly, opportunities for EBP trainings, snacks on Wednesdays, some amazing co-workers.

Cons

Low salary, you are expected to work overtime regularly and are not compensated for it, very very low morale (the staff talk trash all the time about management's incompetence), management is, in fact, incompetent and terrible at communicating effectively, all management cares about is the numbers - they don't really seem to care about quality of services provided.
