Medical Director (Former Employee) - Richmond, TX - December 16, 2023 I regret to say that my experience with Wellpath has been far from satisfactory. From the very beginning, the lack of a proper orientation process has left me feeling ill-prepared and unsupported in my role. This issue extends beyond personal discomfort and has direct implications for the quality of care provided to inmates. The orientation process is woefully inadequate. New employees are not given the necessary information and training to excel in their roles, leading to a pervasive sense of unpreparedness among staff members. The atmosphere within the company is notably unfriendly, fostering an environment that is neither welcoming nor conducive to collaboration. There is a discernible presence of cliques, further exacerbating the sense of isolation for newcomers. One of the most alarming aspects of my experience is the apparent lack of concern for the well-being of inmates. The care provided is subpar, with outdated formularies and practices that appear to prioritize cost-cutting over the health and safety of those in custody. While financial considerations are a natural part of any organization's operations, it is disheartening to observe corners being cut at the expense of essential resources for inmate care. The formulary's lack of updates, presumably to save money, reflects a concerning prioritization of financial concerns over the ethical responsibility to provide adequate care. In conclusion, my time with Wellpath has been marked by disappointment and frustration. I sincerely hope that the company takes immediate action to rectify these issues, addressing the inadequate orientation process, fostering a more inclusive and supportive workplace culture, and prioritizing the well-being of inmates over cost-saving measures.

Management is HORRIBLE! Not just DON and HSA, Regional is just as horrible. Have any issues? Do not bother bringing them up. They call you on your off days 75% of the time even though there are at least 5 other nurses they can call. They do not thank you for coming in to help. An extremely negative environment. Job posted internally and want to apply? Good luck. If it does not fit DON or HSA agenda, just forget it. Working by yourself on shift and call wondering if you can get some help? Sorry, just prioritize care. If you work night shift, you never see management. You just get the calls to come in to help days. Seriously.... Just run!
