Pros

Fighting for one of the most important causes in the world. Christian organization.

Cons

Distrusting senior leadership. Turnover rate is incredibly high. The HR Department is very untrustworthy. Wellspring summed up in one word: shady.

I’d suggest not working here

Pros

It’s a job but that’s about it. The benefits are horrible. Health insurance if you can afford it comes with so many out of pocket costs.

Cons

If you aren’t in leadership you’ll never get a raise. The owner builds the business off the backs of black women and won’t pay them more. They don’t always treat the people who come there for programming well. They have white volunteers who are acting like white saviors and look down upon the black women and girls who come here for services.

Pros

Getting to know the girls and getting trauma experience. (But you aren’t getting the benefit of seeing trauma INFORMED treatment or being trained in it in any way. You see the way it’s NOT supposed to be.)

Cons

The messiness between the staff and the hostile work environment is unreal. They fire good people left and right yet keep the laziest, most toxic employees. There is 0 job security here. Also, you spend 12 hours watching movies all day. This program is in no way therapeutic. The very few groups are a joke, by no fault of the therapists. The only form of consequence is bribing the girls to be good. Staff are put in dangerous situations with aggressive girls or suicidal girls, with no procedure, protocol, or training on what to do. Suicide attempts happen and they take hours to 1013 them. This job is a liability and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. I was told by other coworkers not to put it on my resume from day 1, because it is well-known how irresponsibly the organization is run. They are money hungry, have favorites, and have no organization. The girls run the house 100% and you have ultimately no authority with them because management changes rules everyday to make them happy. I never thought my past direct care jobs would look so good. Such a disappointment of a job.
