Pros

Growing company and opportunities to learn new skills

Cons

Even though you may be given opportunities to learn new skills, you’ll be expected to take on new work after learning such skills and you’ll never be paid for it. Pay is often low and not competitive, the benefits are insanely poor and honestly embarrassing, the company environment is super negative and toxic—but the worst part of all is management. The overall company management is super controlling and out of touch with employee needs. You’re expected to work to the bone and be grateful for the opportunity. Getting raises is like pulling teeth without numbing and the outcome is often disheartening. Management truly doesn’t care about employee satisfaction, whether it’s about pay, the environment, work–life balance, benefits, you name it. I would never recommend working here to anyone. I was given a lot of opportunities, but I was underpaid, overworked, ignored, talked down to, and manipulated every single day. This place has a high turnover rate for a reason.

Thank you for your feedback. We have a few thoughts regarding your concerns, and wish to correct the misrepresentations included in your review. We are sorry to learn about your dissatisfaction with our company benefits, as we have made great strides in revamping our offerings over the years. In addition to our standard benefits package, we have also implemented a Professional Development Reimbursement Program, higher PTO accrual rates, and during the recent COVID-19 pandemic, introduced a company-wide Community Give Back program. Weris conducted an Employee Engagement Survey to collect feedback on a wide range of topics to assess employee satisfaction and received an overwhelming high rate of positive feedback from our employees. One of our highest scoring areas was the strength of our leadership, as employees feel trusted, respected, and supported by management. We also developed a “Coffee with the President” program to allow employees to have 1-1 conversations with our President to speak on career goals and growth opportunities within the company. Our turnover rate is not high and is in line with similar employers within our industry. We understand that we cannot satisfy all employees all the time, but overall, employees thrive at Weris. Our staff enjoy their work and regularly seek out and find new opportunities for personal and professional growth within our company. We are glad to see you felt that opportunities were provided to you to learn new skills. Professional growth is a progressive journey involving not only employee initiative and development of new skills, but also available business opportunities. We wish you continued growth and success in your professional career. - Weris Human Resources

Pros

I am glad I found Weris. My manager is clear, direct, and respectful in their communication, and my coworkers (both on the team and in general) are kind and positive. From what I can see, Weris is trying to continually improve; there was an employee engagement survey in winter and they have changed policies in response to employee feedback, instead of ignoring it as my previous company did. The CEO is a leader who actually cares who you are and provides constructive criticism in a way that's designed to help you rather than make you feel like you failed. I enjoy the contract on which I'm employed and I have found there are plenty of opportunities for growth and expansion of skills. I turn off my laptop at the end of the day and there is no pressure from management to check it at all hours or on weekends. With regards to COVID-19, Weris has been extremely cautious (100% telework with no end date as of yet), which I appreciate greatly. This is not a perfect company (none are) but I'm very happy to work here.

Cons

Cannot contribute to the 401(k) until you've been employed for 6 months (wish it were immediate upon hiring) and the health benefits are acceptable but not great. There's a pretty big division between the two main offices which can be awkward.
