Pros
Employee Benefits: Owner contribution to medical and 401k plans and options for dental, vision, chiropractor and acupuncture. Great employee discount on services and products for household pets. Wonderful family feel amongst staff and many many clients also. Suggestions from staff are considered no matter the length of time employed or position within the clinic, every voice is heard.
Cons
The downside of the animal hospital field as a whole is that eventually staff gets into a position in a small clinic setting where in which to grow(in experience and pay), there would have to be an expansion of the business or someone in a higher position leaving. It is also very taxing on mental health, of course neither of these things has to do with Western Veterinary Group specifically.
