Pros

Westwood has some great people. The culture in the office is generally quite friendly and I love my team.

Cons

Benefits have been getting worse and they are implementing a lot of cost-cutting measures that only end up hurting the low-level staff without saving much. Decreasing PTO accrual rates, removing overtime for salary staff, and forcing WFH employees back to the office with short notice have all been recent developments, and I believe they will loose a lot of good people. I know a good chunk of my team is leaving or looking elsewhere because we are being asked to increase workload and scope for the same/less compensation. Management team is very young, and in my experience rather gossipy. I heard quite a few things about other employees I should not have, and certainly would not appreciate being shared about me. Myself and others noticed obvious favoritism among management when it comes to promotions, which could typically be predicted by who they go golfing/drinking with. Concerns over management conduct is quite swiftly brushed under the rug, and I have seen it ultimately damage someone who was rightly bringing up some very egregious behaviors.

Pros

Well there is an espresso machine and some of the engineers are great people.

Cons

There are a lot of cons and due to word limits, I will list a few of the major ones. The local municipalities and agencies are not fond of this firm due to lack of quality in plan sets which results in an increasingly difficult review process. The loss of OT after the acquisition of CVL with 0 added benefits to employees as well as sub par pay scales. High stress environment that is not set on changing due to old fashioned and out dated mentalities. Constant rework from certain employees and teams that hinders the design process and complicates budgets. Yet the firm has no intention of addressing these individuals/managers and figuring out why these things happen. The company is also stuck in a position where they pretend to be a small and loving firm when in reality, they are approaching a large firm and have a hard core corporate mentality. This mentality includes churn and burn of employees expecting a retention timeline of close to 18 months.

Pros

There are a few good ppl that work there.

Cons

Back stabbers, un-professional, un-trustworthy, sneaky, never get you what you need to do your job until the client gets tired of hearing you tell them you can't do it because you dont have the information needed to accurately do your job. Then they call your boss and all the sudden its your fault even though you have specifically told them what you needed numerous times prior to this ever happening. Terrible company
