Pros

-Summer Fridays (if your workload permits…my former team was understaffed so I was hardly ever done with work by 5pm) -Company pays 100% of health insurance premium -End of year bonus (up to the discretion of management) -Snacks in the office

Cons

-We never received a stipend to set up our home office or to assist with internet/electricity/office supplies -Management seemed eager to get employees back into an office space during the impending pandemic -Working from home was seen like a privilege and as a result, associates were expected to be online 24/7. Long work hours were the norm -Company has very little structure and priorities change everyday -Lack of supportive work culture (constant BCC’ing among employees, finger pointing masked as feedback, sink or swim environment) -Directors in the company perpetuate the toxic work culture by not speaking up for those without a voice in the company -Company’s mission and core values are half hearted. It is hard to find personal fulfillment in your job when all that matters are sales and profit -Seems like your salary is closely tied to your age -Very little regard to mental health and well being -Low team morale and the feeling of burnout can be felt across the company -Lack of systems and structure which results in tons of manual data entry -No career development. You’re on your own to push for your own growth/training -There’s no HR dept. and as a result, unprofessionalism runs rampant

Pros

- Great people on the team! Authentic and diverse team and culture. A very open and free environment, you can be your true self when you show up for work here. - Passionate, generous, respectful founders. They are approachable and available to anyone on the team - entry level to senior. - No stuffy-corporate vibes. Everyone here is unique, confident, and allowed to express themselves. - The founders are clear about work hours and expectations. Ex: If you receive emails from anyone outside of work hours, there's a company-wide understanding that there's no need to respond or take any action in real time. If there's a time sensitive issue that needs immediate attention, that will be specified. Business hours are currently 10am - 6pm. - Employee and team kudos/shout outs directly from founders. The founders are connected to the team and appreciate everyone’s work to make the company a success and will make a point to shout out and reward folks that go above and beyond. - Creativity is encouraged. If you have a game or creative concept or game idea, you’re welcome to and encouraged to pitch it and grab time with the founders. - If you ever need something to enhance your work flow or setup, the office manager is your go to, just say something and you will get it! - They’re always launching new initiatives - most recently, a health & wellness program. In general, the company is always open to feedback, new ideas and recommendations for programs that the team would enjoy. - Obviously the snacks, merch, team outings and events are fun too, but that is not what defines the company or company culture.

Cons

- HR has been a pain point. When our team reached ~25 employees, they hired a HR Manager who then quit unexpectedly and at the worse time of the year. Since then, we have had an HR consultant until we find the right person for the role. - What Do You Meme is 6 years young, and probably one of the only 'start ups' that nearly tripled in size during the pandemic. So there are definitely growing pains and room for improvement from that rapid growth. And there are many things that they are working through for the very first time. But most importantly, the founders are aware and eager to address these pain points, and are actively filling the gaps in structure and management.

Pros

they tried to keep employees happy with swag

Cons

My goal in writing this review is to offer information that will make you reconsider whether or not you should accept a job offer here. Trust me, you don't want to. It was the worst job and the worst manager I've ever had in my life. My manager was unpleasant, assumed bad faith/the worst at all times, passive-aggressive, impossible to please, disrespectful, a bad communicator, a micromanager, lacks empathy and treated me in a way that was simply unacceptable. They would look for reasons to find fault with me. They were not good at their own job and I felt the repercussions of that. Aside from this manager, the company does not take the covid-19 pandemic seriously. Upper management are immature, lack empathy, and are the type of people that love to call out employees in front of their peers. You should know that this company is affiliated with F Jerry, which helped put on the Fyre Festival. Enough said there. There was a long time when they didn't have HR, no HR employees at all, which is a huge red flag.
