I am very sorry to hear that you had a negative experience working in our team, and specifically with leadership. I hope you have taken an opportunity to share some feedback with us directly before you left the team, but know my door is always open.
This period of redundancies and change affecting our team means that you are right in that there have been some sudden and very difficult changes to our team and product. I understand if these changes come across as indecision; we are doing all we can to share the thinking with the team - including our open weekly reviews of all-company metrics, and our AMA sessions with folks across every team from Product to Finance. Being transparent and moving to the speed of the market and our customers is crucial to us, and we love receiving ideas for how to put more value in our product and team to meet those demands.
Really importantly, I absolutely empathise where you feel it is difficult to balance our values and ETHOS with the impacts on our team who are losing their roles or changing their work. This is a very difficult balance to strike and I am sorry if we failed to meet your expectations. Myself and everyone else at Whereby sets a high bar with our Human First value, which means treating each other with respect. Let us know if you think there was something specific we missed the mark on, I'd love to personally rectify it.
Working in any team during periods of uncertainty and change is never easy. Leading our team through this I am so proud of the work everyone is doing to continue to build a Whereby we can be proud of. I wish you all the very best in your next role and beyond, thanks again for your feedback.
