Pros

Working in community mental health provides great experience with diverse client populations.

Cons

Wilder's outpatient clinic is anti-black for staff and clients. Anti-blackness is especially prevalent in the chain of leadership. Feedback is "listened to" but rarely acted upon. There are limited advancement opportunities. Expect changes to be made frequently without the inclusion and input of those most impacted by them.

Pros

Really loved the community of therapists. Learned a lot from the providers who work here.

Cons

Very poor management. There is no transparency when decisions are being made and are extremely defensive when feedbacks are given. Adds additional job roles without giving proper training to clinicians. Minimization culture. Management is scared to have difficult conversations surrounding inclusivity. Despite many clinicians advocating, the management is always shocked to here that people are dissatisfied. They are even more shocked when people leave. They do not respect their providers or their clients. Management seems to have lost touch when it comes to making decisions that best benefit clients. Leadership tries to show that they care by doing the bare minimum such as showing up to staff meetings for 10 minutes. However, they do not provide enough space for critical feedback. Either they resort to talking about what they have done in the past or distract away from actual concerns. As a result, completely dismissing clinician concerns. It is disappointing to see this org failing over time. Lot of clients rely on them. Used to be relatively better and had good mission.
