Pros

It is possible to make a bit of money but understand more than half of that will be gone with taxes, gas and tolls. Only the people at the top will make 6 figures before taxes.

Cons

I write this with a heavy heart as this was truly a place I thought I could stay for the rest of my career. I apologize this will be long but I strongly urge to read this before you consider moving forward in employment with WindowWall. Ultimately, it wouldn’t feel right if I didn’t tell people the truth so they could avoid the stress and terror I had to go through. I genuinely feel guilty for being part of the management/mentorship team and furthering the ability for the owner to take advantage of good people. And because I’m writing this, I will more than likely not be paid the money I’m owed, as the owner has a proven track record of being vindictive and not paying former employees. Therefore, it makes me extremely hesitant to write this. I assume this is the reason most others have not spoken out. Everything is sold to you as a great and positive work environment with the potential to make a lot of money. This is an extremely toxic work environment and they do not care about their employees. As one of the longest tenured employees and one with a proven successful track record, I can say — it is not worth it. I’ll note, the one positive thing about this job are some of my coworkers I’ve met along the way. But, almost every single one of them left before I did, all because of the issues I’m putting forth here. The owner has been quoted saying “one of my best talents is getting people to work very hard for me for very little money”. That should both start and sum this up for you. Turnover rate is incomprehensible. In my 1.5 years with WindowWall, I had 4 separate RVPS and in less than 8 months, I was the longest tenured sales rep standing. Every month they will bring in a team of 10 new sales rep and sell them a dream. Reality is, you will be gone in a few short months. If you have plans to stay, as I did, you will just be pushed out when the owner gets tired of you. Most don’t last longer than a year. There’s no real way to track your money. A few months into my tenure, the owner removed the ability for sales reps to see their commissions or details of their jobs. Your money will routinely be changed with no explanation why and no real way to track it. When you question it, your lack of trust insults the owner and you’re scrutinized for it. We aren’t talking about hundreds of dollars, this is in the thousands. You wonder how this keeps happening and how the owner continuously gets away with this, but it’s because he threatens the fact he has more money for lawyers and will beat you at your own game. A couple examples of many are: overnight half the sales reps had $1000s missing from their accounts and were told it was an error on the accounting side. The reps were held responsible for financing fees on jobs previously sold without them, as directed to by ownership and thousands were taken out of their books. This was something that was no fault of their own and was the result of following instruction from management/ownership. On another account, the owner made the decision to have reps run MSFH leads for months, a government grant program. We ran these appointments for compensation (as this is a full commission job), all for the owner to turn around, cancel the jobs we had closed and take the money out of our books overnight without warning (this included bonuses). Overall, I’d say I had close to $10K taken from me without warning and never returned in my time at WW. This is not an isolated incident, as many of my coworkers that have come and gone had the same thing happen to them. You’re pressured into becoming a mentor, which is essentially a management position without any real additional pay. In the 6 months I was in the mentorship position, I made ~$1500 for hundreds of hours of work that was put in. It was a nightmare trying to receive the money I was owed — which I might state, I still haven’t. They say you are supposed to earn bonuses but it is essentially impossible given every rep in there lasts on average 2-3 months. You’re expected to run sales trainings once a week and answer your phone 18 hours a day should anyone on your team need to reach you. It has been expressed many times to management this issue and the owner refuses to make any changes. All of this culminated into the final straw which was me being suspended for a week without reason or warning. I hadn’t been paid for mentorship for the last two months of my tenure when I was taken off the schedule for “not fulfilling mentorship duties.” I presented evidence disproving his claims, we went back and forth for days and he still refused to rectify the situation until 2 days prior to suspension ending, acting as if he were doing me a favor. Long story short, I was being suspended for a job I wasn’t even being paid for. It was in this process that I made the determination I can no longer work in this abusive environment and I refused to make another dollar for the owner/this company. My job is to sell homeowners on the company and the product, but I couldn’t believe in the company any longer. If I’m being truthful, I haven’t believed in the company for a while. Regardless, in my time, I still showed up and did my job. Any of my coworkers can testify to it. Eventually what happens when you’re there long enough is the owner will push you out because you know the culture of the company and he has no intention to change it. He is afraid others will learn the truth of your experience, so he hushes it up by pushing you out or getting rid of you. It wont matter how great of an employee you are. He would rather you quit than fire you and pay you unemployment. It is essentially an abusive relationship. The last thing I want to do by writing this is affect any of the GOOD people that are currently working there. Unfortunately, enough is enough. If you made it this far, you are probably considering to work for this company. Please take advice from myself or others on this page and save yourself. He doesn’t deserve to manage people and won’t deserve the work you give. I put so much time, energy and loyalty into this company for nothing in return. I write this with many of my coworkers in mind who have experienced the same thing but feel they don’t have a voice or it won’t make a difference. I hope this does.

Pros

No mandatory weekends Decent living CAN be made Good job on install, low customer complaints

Cons

Training lasts 4 weeks, paid $100/day, training will get cut 2 weeks early. Takes 10 days minimum to be paid on jobs, however usually takes upward of 2+ weeks. They will run you into the ground, you’re on call all day Monday-Friday and can get appointments with less than an hour’s notice. Only allowed 21 days off per year, including sick time (unpaid). If you take just an evening, morning, or afternoon slot off, it counts as a whole day. You will drive 200 miles/ day easily, on your own gas/vehicle with zero reimbursement, you will also be required to buy new equipment (tablets, laptops) with no notice any time they decide to change things up. Not only will you drive 200 miles/day for 2-3 appointments, but each appointment you will present a 2-3 hour pitch. You’re maxed at 6% commission if they don’t sell same day. Lots of misleading promises for extra effort given that never come true.

Pros

Great product and great service for customers. I left the window industry and still referred people to them until today.

Cons

WindowWall just charged me back $8,918.73 in unpaid commissions due to a job where I was only paid $2.178.45. At WindowWall, you have a measure technician re-measure all of your projects to eliminate the need for chargebacks like this. WindowWall also has no chargeback clauses in their employment paperwork, so I'll be actively seeking legal assistance. I was a good employee and tried to leave on good terms. Sadly, this is the first time I ever had to post a bad Glassdoor review for a company, but I never experienced anything like this from any prior window company. A coworker of mine that left at the same time tried to convince me to post one, but I decided against that until today. I'm very disappointed in this company and its management.
