Poorly Treated by Management

Pros

Being part of a team that creates the built environment will always be the thing I liked most about Winter. They treat their subcontractors well (as long as they are not behind schedule) and strive to meet the owner and design team's expectations. They produce quality work that you can be proud of.

Cons

Project Managers and Project Executives can be outright rude at times, screaming and cursing at you and others. Very unprofessional. They are not tolerant of personal issues (family medical emergency) either - sending ranting emails to you about how you're not doing your job because you have to leave to deal with personal issues.

Pros

the field team is strong and great. They have some of the best and caring superintendents that I have ever worked with

Cons

Senior management needs to do better. They are not leaders but more dictators that do not care for the well being of the project or the team. They are extremely selfish and do not take the time to do what executives or directors should do. I have personally seen them terrorize employees just because they did not socially meet the standard in their book while the employee was a hard working and willing person. They continue to employ people with a lack of knowledge in the industry, lack of any drive while letting go and mistreating hard working employees. Their current pursuits in both employees and projects show that there has been a decline in knowledgeable decision making throughout the entire company. There is not much future here for anyone and its a shame to see the decline of a company that was originally great to work for with a strong culture.

Thank you for taking a moment to share your insight! We agree that Winter benefits from having some of the best Superintendents in the industry and we feel pretty fortunate. We are always working to foster a culture where perspectives can be safely shared and in which every team-member can impact the organization for the better. Our Stay Interviews are one of many ways in which we seek to hear well and then act upon what we learn.

Pros

This company cares about their employees, from making sure everyone spend time with their families (office close at 3pm Fridays) to listen to all the concerns you have and try to accommodate as best as possible to your needs and goals. There are plenty of opportunities of growth and is the only construction company I've seen that has this many women as Project Managers, Project Executives and even VP. The company has done a great job in the last year improving their technology and training plans. Excited to see the changes! Headquarters are in Downtown Atlanta floor 21st with an awesome view. There is an open policy so most of the management offices do not have doors. Lots of cool projects like hotels, retail, Zoo Atlanta, among others.

Cons

Benefits are okay, 401k match is low.
