Pros

To preface, some of the pros here speak to my experience as an early employee in this organization and may not represent the opportunities available now. There are some great people here, your proximity to them depends upon the department you are in. Moving up was an easier thing to accomplish before a structure was put in place but also required you to sacrifice a bit of yourself in order to appease those with power over your career growth. Up to you if that's a pro or con. While I don't think I can (or should) name people directly, I will say that many of those in the C-Suite along with other department heads are some of the most intelligent and kind people I've come across in my career.

Cons

There are many cons to go through and I've listed this out carefully as to avoid coming off as some disgruntled ex-employee. The sole intent of this review is to provide a level of transparency on the work environment there at Wisetack as it is my opinion that the existing reviews do not provide this with the level of clarity I intend to impart to anyone interested in joining Wisetack. It should also be noted that I've signed a Non-Disparagement clause as part of my severance package and it was communicated to me that I would be unable to speak publicly about Wisetack. However, with the NLRB's Feb. 21st decision in Mclaren Macomb, broad non-disparagement clauses (such as the one currently being issued at Wisetack) present an overreach in worker rights granted under the NLRA and as such, are not enforceable to their fullest extent. It should also be noted that this does not mean that I am safe to make blatantly false statements about Wisetack. So with that, I will note where my statements are made in reference to my personal experience rather than present them as facts. 1. While 401k's are offered, Wisetack did not match employee contributions at all. This may have changed but if you're interviewing, ASK. 2. Lack of growth opportunity: This is highly dependent upon the department you are in along with the direction the company intends to grow in and if those two coincide. 3. No yearly bonuses and for the most part, no yearly increase in compensation. In the time I was at Wisetack, I saw no increase in compensation or were there ever any bonuses offered. In place of that, it was typical to receive something like a $1-$200 gift card somewhere and company swag. Regarding compensation, I cannot speak for the experience in every department, but there was no conversation around a standard yearly increase, a merit increase, or a cost of living increase. However, you can expect to receive a pay increase if you are able to secure a promotion. 4. Company Values and Ego. While this has recently been removed from the Company Values page of Wisetack.com, Wisetack's Ownership and Accountability value spoke to the need to "...grind through discomfort" and that those who succeed here "do what's right for the company and put the needs of the company and team above oneself". While I'm glad to see that this is no longer an outwardly facing expression of what Wisetack values, It is my opinion that the weight of this value remains true and that this feeds the ego's amongst those in management who see those giving away less of themselves as a detriment to the organization as a whole. 5. Management vs Leadership. It is my opinion that many of those in varying levels of management at Wisetack lead through delegation and presentation rather than true leadership. 6. Lack of culture and diversity. On one hand, the company does have multiple women occupying larger roles within the organization, on the other hand there are very few black and brown people in these roles. However, I believe the Wisetack is making some improvements on this front. Whether or not that's meaningful or performative, I cannot confirm. To wrap this up, I think that Wisetack is a good place to work for a certain type of person and I just was not that person and I think most people are not. But, if you are looking to get into finance and have the qualifications to operate at a higher level than Customer Service then sure.

Pros

promise of pay and that is it

Cons

You will not receive the pay you were promised; it’s a push to get you in the door. You will have no support as a new employee. Like, actually. It’s kind of insane. Their training team is missing. Don’t ask too many questions though, lest you might call attention to yourself. Here, that’s a bad thing, Don’t embarrass yourself by clarifying anything. If you have questions, you’ll have to ask them in front of the entire company’s Slack General channel. Yes, you heard that right. No safe space to train or learn. Training isn’t supposed to be like this. So, it’s no wonder their employees feel like they are under so much pressure. Current employees don’t care about you; they are desperately trying to keep their jobs and income while looking elsewhere for something better. Leadership does not represent employees; they are too stressed for that. Everyone here is on the verge of quitting. The manager who hired me apologized for bringing me into such a toxic space and no longer works here. Culture is a lie 🤷‍♂️ so that sucks. It seems promising but this is a shady company. They will also force you to sign a document that you won’t “make disparaging comments” about the company IN ORDER to get your severance. I’m sorry, WHAT? Do it anyway. The working class deserves better. These are some of the newer shady tactics CEOs are using to overhire and count on somebody falling short. If nobody falls short, some good employee has to go. Research this on your own, it’s some dark late-stage capitalism.

CX IS DOWN THE DRAIN

Pros

If you want to change into fintech then cx support is a good door to enter to see what it's like. But once you are done, recommend getting out and moving on. Don't waste your time. They will string you along for pay promises and jobs that never come. It's toxic and have fun earning time at a snail's pace and then trying to take time off. Terrible. Overworked, underpaid.

Cons

Warning: If you're just here for a paycheck, get it, but plan your exit ASAP. As in, put your resume out there for another job as soon as you start this one. Seriously pursue something else. The Head of CX does all of the work. Director, manager and supervisor does very little. It is like crickets when you need help and the workload is outrageous. Turnover is high. They all seem very inexperienced and don't understand how to provide health to the team. Weve gone backwards instead of forward. It is toxic. The head of cx needs to clean house. The team on phones and backend work hard, but management and supervisor are driving them away. Loyalty has tanked since our best lead left for a better opportunity due to toxic work culture. Cracking jokes and a team building activity won't fix it. Many want to leave.
