Cons

Work you to death, pay you next to nothing. If you are not an analyst there is no point of being here. Very grim culture. Turnstyle

Pros

The CEO once said in a firmwide meeting on mentorship that sometimes mentors teach you how not to be - this was true of my experience at Wolfe.

Cons

The firm will lie about opportunities for growth to get you in the door. Once you are in the job they provide no information or structure for advancement, other than a vague “work hard”. Working hard means working 24/7 7 days a week or taking on the responsibilities of 3 separate jobs and only being paid for 1. Associates are given an opportunity to take on coverage that the firm already plans to give over to an analyst they’re hiring externally and then pushed to the side or let go when the new analyst arrives. Associates are often yelled at and berated. The firm does not practice a culture of learning and growing, instead it could be better described as “Kill or be killed”. Work culture is toxic and abusive.

Bad culture and dishonest management

Pros

Easily commutable location next to Grand Central

Cons

Horrific work environment. Senior analysts are extremely abusive and management doesn't care so long as they produce. I worked seven days a week on a ranked team and got screwed on bonus and pushed out for my trouble. When I joined management and senior analyst lied about turnover as well as career development.
