Pros

- Decent compensation - Good work/life balance - Nice office and location - Never had issues requesting PTO

Cons

Where do I even begin? My time at this company was quite frankly the most soul-sucking experience I've ever went through. Everyone on my team and adjacent teams were emotionless robots with no passion for the work they do (myself included). This company has no culture whatsoever and is not transparent at all. Co-workers were also toxic, ready to throw you under the bus to make themselves look better. Leadership has no ability to make positive change due to the Amazon acquisition, and frankly, they simply have no desire to. Also received incredibly offensive comments as a POC in this predominantly white company. tldr; I learned absolutely nothing from my time here, regret the day that I signed my contract to join this team, and highly implore others who are passionate about tech and/or entertainment to look elsewhere.

Pros

The people at Wondery are really passionate about Podcasts, and have created some of the best podcast content in the world. In my experience, those same people are down-to-earth, friendly, and open to new ideas, making Wondery a great place to learn and contribute. After being acquired by Amazon Wondery seems to have preserved its unique culture while adding (positive) elements of Amazon. People at Wondery are respected as the best in the business by external partners, but internally are humble and are very willing to experiment.

Cons

The company seems to be struggling between competing priorities after being acquired by Amazon, and as an employee that means your goals might be completely different month to month. Wondery also doesn't consider themselves to be remote (most people are in LA), but if you're looking for a place with office culture, they haven't adopted processes that would support building culture if they were either fully remote or fully in-person.
