Pros

Can't think of anything. Now that I'm at a better startup and have something to compare my experience to, I am in awe that this company is even still above water.

Cons

No transparency or accountability within leadership. They micromanage you beyond belief. Hours are not 9-5. Good luck with taking a lunch break. They track metrics daily that have nothing to do with actually setting meetings, creates toxic sales team culture. Commission structures completely cut so you don't make any money, and no one hits quota here because it's purposefully unattainable. They expect you to work investment banking hours for a minimum wage salary. Zero autonomy or literal support when it comes to issues that might arise when doing the job. Also-- after working here for a few months, I realized the product has zero market fit and does not do what they say it does. If you do not meet the quota within one month of being hired, you will be fired. Turnover is practically half the SDR team per month. This is all true!

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback on your experience with WorkGenius. We are disappointed to hear that your perception of the business and your former colleagues is of this nature. I would like to address some of your comments: Firstly, I can confirm that our standard working hours are 9 am–6 pm in the US, but that some people who want to get ahead tend to work longer hours than that, which is not uncommon for a competitive sales organization. We offer a competitive base salary, which we believe to be strong for the industry. Our commission structure adapts and evolves with the business, as it does most organizations. Managers have been keeping in touch with their team members regularly since we have been working remote. Some staff are very new to sales and need additional support so contact levels depend on the employee. Your first year at WorkGenius is undoubtedly the hardest, with lots of training and new challenges. But you certainly get out of it what you are prepared to put in, both financially and in personal development, with plenty of resources, support and training provided.

Pros

Good product Good insurance German CEO seems like a nice guy who is the most reasonable of the 'leadership' There used to be some awesome people to work with

Cons

Toxic is an understatement. The Chief of Staff/BD Manager/Ops/CS Manager/Finance/Sales trainer/Sales Manager person(yes one person) who used to be an intern and has never worked a real job before this one, has single handedly brought down the company and the biggest reason why most employees left or got fired. The CEO is in another location so he has the CoS be his henchman and whatever the CoS says goes. He just doesn't care about running a company. There used to be some awesome people to work with. The old sales leaders and the people that were here were a great group. There was a glimmer of hope that the naive in-experienced (age and tenure) leadership would actually not get in their own way. But that didn't happen. There was potential. But when you are in one of the biggest job markets in the country with an abundant list of amazing companies to work for, WorkGenius cannot compete. Look at the past tenure of the majority of employees. Aside from the founders/CEO and CoS no one has been at the company longer than a year. Red flag is an understatement.

Pros

The ONLY enticing reason to work here is the pay. However, in today’s employee-driven world you can definitely find a better salary elsewhere.

Cons

More cons than I can name: - micro-management across all teams - no room for vertical growth - no marketing dollars to support brand - product team is inexperienced and unhelpful - sales process is antiquated and robotic - upper-management is unethical and makes it impossible to earn commissions - no 401k or equity - product has no value-add in an over-saturated market - company does nothing to boost team morale - essentially no maternity or paternity leave (management will chastise you if you take time off) - revolving door of SDR’s and AE’s
