Pros

Co-workers are generally decent people. Other than that, nothing comes to mind.

Cons

This is the most soul-crushing environment imaginable. The owners are tyrannical -- authoritarian, paranoid, borderline insane. ALL employees have to clock in and are hourly, including those who anywhere else would be salaried. There are hidden cameras in the dealerships -- at least in the flagship Nissan dealership -- and the owner watches live feed on his cell throughout the day. 65-hour work weeks are the norm. The marketing department was created with big ideas it is not given the tools or authority to carry out. A couple of examples: The content department churns out material, which is posted on a website that isn't being read by anyone because there is no one doing SEO/SEM or social media promotion. This department is also supposed to be putting out new commercials, but management instead sticks to the same old idiotic ones it's been making for decades. People are hired who have great ideas but aren't allowed to do what they were hired to do. The people in departments such as Service are treated terribly and feel trapped and constantly watched by the owners, who demand constant blind loyalty. In the fall of 2014, one employee gathered his courage and applied at a rival dealership. That dealership called the WC owner and tattled, and the employee was read the riot act and is now so cowed he will never dare to take a risk like that again. As for the owners, they immigrated to the US from Iran in the late 70s and are super paranoid about being perceived a certain way because of their origins. They won't allow their names to be on any press material and do everything they can to stay behind the scenes. That's fine, but the extent to which they go to do this is laughable and really over the top. In our department, we called WC North Korea. It is a devastating environment, and the worst part is that after you've been there a couple of months, it starts to feel normal. It is very much like an abusive romantic relationship in which you are always on your best behavior so as not to anger an unreasonable, rage-filled partner. Getting out felt like an emancipation. The sky looked bluer, the air felt lighter. They refuse to fix the building or buy necessary equipment. It is just bad, bad, bad all the way around.

Pros

Owners are the most active, knowledgeable and involved I've ever worked with. There is a tremendous amount of support and training available. Senior Corporate Managers are always available and engaged. They do what they say they will.

Cons

There are a lot of long days, late nights, but enough work to always stay busy

Pros

There is nothing good to say about World Car, the only positive moments there were among the staff, the average good working human beings that leave because they are treated less than human.

Cons

They make their sales people wear sweater vest in 98 degree weather while owner wears Hawaii shirt and jeans. They have hidden pacts, excessive finance charge backs which of course only effects your promised pay and pay line.
