      Pros

      The general perks of working at a non-profit: laid-back attitude, generally intelligent, pleasant, well-intentioned colleagues. Good opportunities for travel.

      Cons

      Recent downsizing has left remaining staff apprehensive and overworked. Future strategy is unclear. Location in Empire State Building, though prestigious, can be irritating during high-tourist season.

      Pros

      There is an opportunity to travel and deal with different cultures, in addition to the fact that it is a charitable organization, which makes working in it a good addition to your CV.

      Cons

      Instability, especially if you are not working in the main office in New York, as you will receive an annual contract

      Pros

      WMF's staff is its greatest asset. My colleagues were incredibly knowledgeable and deeply committed to WMF's important cultural and architectural heritage preservation work.

      Cons

      The development team was a revolving door, with staff regularly cycling in and out of WMF. The programs side was much more stable, but it seemed like many of the long-time program staff members were stuck in their roles/titles for years waiting for a higher-up to retire or leave so they could assume their position.
