Pros
Talented, skilled, dedicated employees. Colleagues are fantastic and such a pleasure to work with. The mission is incredible and staff are committed to the mission and do excellent work. The opportunity to work with such staff should be a strong appeal to anyone. Salary and benefits are good. They usually care about taking care of staff and their family.
Cons
Leadership set revenue goals so unrealistic, and against all data and trends, were warned against doing so, and hired a new C-suite assuming this unrealistic vision would be real, that now the repercussions are happening. After several years of telling people the organization was growing when in fact it was not, cuts are now taking place. Staff are leaving, voluntarily and involuntarily. The culture between leadership and staff is very unhealthy. Leadership is not being held accountable. Leadership never took seriously its demographic challenges, and ignored opportunities that were presented, and now it would be even harder than ever to recover. With new leadership, there could be great energy and a new day.
