Pros

I do not know about now, but back then the only good thing about this company was the employees. Mark, Trino, and the other guys were all great. The owners...hmm, well read the cons. Other than the employees, I can't think of anything good to say about the company.

Cons

Like others have said, you do not know what your next day time in is until the afternoon of the previous day. Once you go in there is no way of knowing how many hours you will be working. It depends how busy they are and since the owner loves playing favoritism, if you are one of her favorites or not. Once they don't need you, they call you in and you are done for the day. After working from a couple of hours to several. You never know. That means that in a week you can work from less than at a part time job to 40 hours if you are extremely lucky. And again, if you are one of her favorites. Even though they tell you that it is a full time job, it is not. At least not every week. They are a bit upfront about it but not entirely honest. They do tell you the the hours can vary on how busy they are and that you typically will work 30 or more. That is not true, many weeks I worked a lot less than than 30. Some weeks, the exception, even less than 20. The equipment is mostly old and they try to keep it running the best they can. If something breaks down on you from normal everyday use, you get the third degree. Because they believe that your were negligent. Oh, and no matter what you say about anything, you are always wrong and they are right. They are will chewing you up and spitting you out for any little reason they see fit. I guess that is the way they do that back in Russia, where they can treat employees the way they feel like it and there is no real laws. At least for what I've been told by some Russian friends. No wonder they have a huge employee turn around. Someone even went through a trouble a few years ago of putting an ad in Craigslist warning people to stay away from this company. I should had listed to that ad. Recently I apply for a job and while they were doing back ground checks, the investigator (a PI) called to verify employment. She was told that they only do employment verification by e-mail and was provided an e-mail address to sent her request in. So she sent in the request. The owner replied back saying that she had no files on me and that she didn't know who I was. Seriously? The investigator replied back telling her that according to Social Security and workers comp (I got injured one time while working for them) records I had been an employee at one time. The owner never replied back. Obviously she got caught in a lie. The investigator called me and told me that she had never seen anything as unprofessional. Some companies do destroy records of former employees but not after such short period of time. She the owner either doesn't know what she is doing and destroyed records prematurely, or was lying. She does not know anyone who destroy records that soon due to legal reasons. Records need to be maintained for at least 7 years. Many companies maintain it for 10 or more. No matter, I still got the job. It does not surprised me. Less than a year after I got a real job and quit, I called and asked the owner if she could provide me with my starting date and end date. She said she would look it up and to give her a day or two. I waited several days and she never called me back. I called her again, and she got mad and told me that she didn't have time and would call me back. After waiting nearly two weeks, I called her again and this time her attitude was even worst. I gave up and I never heard from her. I know for a fact, because I have kept in touch with coworkers that were still working there, that they hadn't been busy at all. All she had to do was to get off her rear, walk to the office (about 15 feet away), open the file cabinet, pull out the file with my name. and get the info. Of course that is if she even bothered to write that info down. Most likely she never did and instead of admitting it and making herself look unprofessional, she decided to lie about it. Just to give you an idea of how they are, during my employment there one guy had to call in because his stepmom past away. He got chewed up pretty good for calling in. Seriously, the woman who raised him died and you complain? About a month later his father had a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital. Well, he called in and he got written up for that and threaten with getting fired. I swear this is true, at least the way it was told to me but my co-worker. Luckily for him he got another job at a real ambulance company not long after that. Like I mentioned before, the fact that they have such a high employee turn around must be for a reason. Only apply if you are desperate for a part time job. And only see it as a temporary job. Temporary because anyone who wants more than just a job won't want to stay there. If you want a real EMT job, with a regular schedule, this place is not for you.

The management are nice people to work for. Its a small company so you get to interact with bosses often. Pretty easy job with little paperwork.
