Startup Culture - Frequent Turnover

Pros

I enjoyed my time at Wrapmate for the most part, would still be working there but I was part of a large layoff in 2025. Plenty of good people (at least there were). It's a "down in the trenches" kind of environment, so you need to foster really good relationships in all departments to get your job done. Good opportunity for those looking for a chance to showcase a "can-do" attitude and wear a lot of hats.

Cons

Pivot, pivot, pivot. Consistently changing processes at the drop of a hat requiring quick adoption. Their goal is to have as few employees possible with the highest output, which stretches their ops capabilities to its limits. This is a bottom line company. If they can attempt to automate something, they will - including you. They frontload sales and will part ways with you if you drop below performance metrics. Frequent turnover.

Pros

There are quite a few high quality individuals at Wrapmate. About once a month they stock the fridge with sparkling water.

Cons

A cultore of micro-management comes from the top. Leadership is focused on goals that don't actually create revenue for the business which results in constant turnover and layoffs. The role was promoted as a hybrid work model but they actually take away the WFH benefits quite often resulting in a terrible work culture and constant employment uncertainty

Pros

Interesting product, nothing proprietary, DTC commute, culture created by Sonos

Cons

- Used WFH as a carrot to dangle and take away even though the JD and culture statement is flex/hybrid work, they will make you come into the DTC office 40+ hours a week even if you perform at a high level. - Any goal or KPI set was never celebrated when met/exceeded, simply that's what you are paid to do and now go do more even though everyone is underpaid and overworked from Day 1 - Real feel of indentured servitude by management that starts at the top with a CEO that fired over half its workforce on 10/31/25 due to mismanagement, financing has been pulled by the investor group(s) and the CEO is still buying a $400k Porsche - CEO is desperately trying to automate the business at every turn but will ultimately fail because no one at the org can question him and he rules like the billionaire class with zero f's given. He'll take it all for himself and leave you with a few scraps on your way out the door. - As an employee at Wrapmate, you are viewed as a commodity in every sense of the word, there is no empathy for employees, simply viewed as a number that would not be worth giving any equity stake to help build the business. - Unfortunately this is sinking ship, do not tie your dingy to this org, best to look elsewhere as you will not be able to build a career here and they will try to ring every ounce of sweat and tears from you before letting you go with no severance
