Lost Sight of its Legacy

Pros

It's a great cause and easy enough job. You get to work with passionate people that can teach you a lot about gardening, cooking, herbal medicine, native plants, etc.

Cons

The new ED is running this org into the ground. They only care about how many likes our instagram account has and micromanages everyone's jobs. There's no support of the Education Team and the ED has burned nearly every bridge on arrival.

Pros

The coworkers are kind and extremely knowledgeable

Cons

The leadership is awful. They have no nonprofit management experience, are unable to make strategic decisions, do not include staff in decision-making or company communication, and are unable to foster community relationships. The new Executive Director does not prioritize Education and the Development Director is unsuccessful in finding sustainable funding sources. The pay is extreamly low, except for the ED and Dev Director. Staff members worry about job security due to poor funding sources. The turnover is worse than anywhere else I've worked due to poor leadership and pay.

Pros

Environmental Focus and stewardship. Access to nature.

Cons

Low pay and high staff turnover. This organization lacks diversity, it is challenging to work there if you are a minority.
