Pros
A niche industry to work in to develop specialist skills. Customer & project delivery focused driven by big names(customers) in industry. Strong upper leadership Decent pay.
Cons
Lack of development, inovation & drive. Most Managers & Principal engineers from hardware and mechanical recruited for in the past 5 years have been lazy, seem to hide in meetings and lots of "working from home" days when their presence is required and lack of technical depth to perform in these roles. Were they really engineers? No sense of responsibility - nothing sticks.
