Pros

Like to have a good time! Very Pro family ! Great compensation!

Horrible Benefits, company rolled out “perks” but didn’t have any impact on our health insurance which is insanely high! (Crazy this is what we do for a living and can’t offer better for our employees) leadership is weak and not consistent, the CEO has burned through 5+ assistants in less than two years! If you aren’t working yourself to unmanageable limits you better believe you are on the chopping block! If you complain to you supervisor, does no help especially with the CEO philosophy “coach them up or coach them out” Never worked for a place that Sales underperformed for 3 quarters and nothing was done about it! Just seems at first it is going to be a great fit but once you realize it’s forced behaviors and not genuine, easily become discouraged. Scheduled cake breaks and calls prior to coming onboard were nice but then you realize it’s all fake and forced as the dust settles!

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you had a good time while working at XMI, you felt XMI is pro family and the compensation was great. Benefit premiums are based on losses from prior years. If claims are more than premiums then companies face higher than trend increases. This can happen to any company, regardless of their industry or expertise. XMI is not immune from this mathematical calculation because we offer benefits to our clients. In this circumstance, we follow the same coaching that we offer XMI clients - build the right strategy to decrease benefits cost over time while expanding the breadth of your offering. We have done both over the last 24 months. Our benefit costs have been drastically reduced year over year, and in 2020 our average employee decrease was 16.8%. The breadth of employee offerings at XMI far exceeds packages provided by similarly sized companies, in fact our plan is richer than the national and Tennessee average HDHP plan by 20%. In 2020 we extended our benefit offerings to include telehealth, financial wellness, and expanded employee assistance. We also launched an internal initiative, the XMI Ideal Life, which provides ongoing programming to help employees achieve their career, mental, physical, and financial goals. We do believe that coaching employees is critical to individual and team success. Coaching is fundamental to our employee first philosophy. With that said, we are a growth company and have high expectations. We don’t aim to be average which is why we coach under-performers out of our organization and help them find a better fit. Fortunately, our robust hiring process enables us to identify great candidates, and the need to coach people out is infrequent at XMI. We do live our core values at XMI, which is one of our keys to success, and employee feedback survey results speak to the truth of this statement. We do not condone or accept unethical behavior, regardless of the position in the organization. We wish you much success with your new opportunity.

Pros

Decent salary, nice people, may be good for learning PEO side of business.

Cons

Extremely low-energy, hypocritical behavior by management, and micromanaging that is hidden. HIPAA exposure when HR has regular conversations with clients in the same open cubicle space as payroll and benefits people. The local office grew from something very small and still has cliques that are allowed to behave as though this is their home and newer employees are just guests. Be prepared to buy your own supplies if you want anything special. Location makes it too hard to get away for lunch, so Jimmy Johns is a regular delivery at greater cost to your pocketbook.

Due to our significant growth over the past 12 months, we have added many new team members. This has infused our team with a diverse blend of individuals and any cliques that may have existed are since gone. With regard to the HIPAA exposure comment, our HR team is not co-located with other teams, so the conversations you mentioned occurring absolutely do not happen. Lastly, the daily Shout-Out’s acknowledging our employees for exemplifying our Core Values has been an overwhelming success. They reinforce the right behaviors that improve our culture and make all of us at XMI better. In addition, they ensure we provide numerous employees with positive recognition on a daily basis. Consistently recognizing these contributions is one of the many strategies we deploy in an effort to create a company where employees come first. This is critically important to us and we are sorry this does not align with your way of thinking. We wish you much success in life. Thank you for having been part of XMI.
