Pros

Fully remote working and London office

Cons

No training structure or plans Poor communication/Lack of onboarding after initial hiring process The company is hugely overselling to customers and has scarily few plans in place to actually deliver anything or be physically able to deliver what they promise without severely overworking current staff past legal restrictions. Lack of team inclusivity and team bonding. 'No meeting Thursday' was usually my busiest meeting day as everyone used it as a free for all due to the gap in calender. No benefits while in probation which includes no paid annual leave during probation.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While it's disappointing to hear about your negative experience, we genuinely appreciate honest input - especially when it highlights areas where we need to improve. We’re glad you found value in our remote setup and access to the London office. Flexibility remains a key part of our culture. That said, we take the concerns you've raised seriously: Training and Onboarding: You're right - a structured onboarding and training framework is essential. Our general company onboarding receives great feedback, however we have identified we can improve project onboarding. We’re currently creating platform training to ensure new team members feel properly supported past their first week, and documentation around project onboarding continues to build. Recent new joiners have shared positive feedback so we believe we're moving in the right direction! Communication and Delivery Gaps: We now have a clear process in place to ensure alignment between what is promised to clients and what teams are resourced to deliver. We’re scaling rapidly and this can sometimes be challenging to navigate. We are open and honest regarding the quick (and exciting!) pace with candidates in our interview process, and monitor and offer support to existing team members to ensure they feel valued. Culture and Inclusivity: We regret that your experience felt isolating. Most of our staff enjoy the flexibility we offer around remote / hybrid working, but we appreciate this isn’t for everyone. We have an office in Fitzrovia, London where we encourage employees to work from, but we allow them to decide for themselves and don’t force anyone into the office. This may impact a traditional view of team bonding. No-Meeting Thursdays: This policy was designed to give people focus time, and has recently been reinforced. We’re finding it’s now been used more effectively but understand that under pressure this can get misused. We encourage open communication between peers to resolve this. Probation Benefits: As a fair and supportive employer we offer paid leave during probation periods, so your feedback is incorrect on this point. Advice to management: We take your feedback onboard and we’re aware we can’t see everything. As a non-hierarchical business we actively listen to our team members at all levels through 121s, coffee mornings, culture survey feedback, and more. There’s always room for improvement and we’ll continue evaluating how we listen to and action feedback from our staff. We’re sorry your experience at Xiatech wasn’t what you expected - we’ll continue to listen and improve. We wish you best of luck in your new role.

Great place to work

Pros

Extremely friendly company and fun to work for with loads of social events and encouraging the teams into offices (but not forced) Full of very intelligent dev teams Good clients, really enjoyed spending so much time with the client I worked on Kind, approachable senior leadership, Helen especially. Xiatech is a company that is growing fast and has the typical growing pains you'd expect to see, but they are trying to fill the gaps and put the right processes in place, not always right first time, but attempts at improvements are obvious and felt by everyone. The client partners are exceptional, and really really make your life at Xiatech enjoyable and enable you the right amount of challenge for those looking to grow in a LC role.

Cons

Often I found decisions were made by teams/business area's you wouldn't expect, & in my opinion didn't have the right knowledge/skills/experience to make them despite them being great in their own area. I also found in the Agile space, the most knowledgable people in this area were not empowered to make the ways of working, or Agile delivery decisions.

An Okay place to work

Pros

They can pay well (depending on your role), the CEO is down to earth and approachable, and some effort is made to make sure people are happy at work.

Cons

The processes are still in their early stages, so it may feel a bit jarring from time to time.
