Pros

Flex hours, catered lunches, brilliant engineers. Nearly all my co-workers are incredibly smart AI/ML leaders, fun to work with, and driving towards a common mission.

Cons

CEO is openly verbally abusive and disrespectful to staff. He has driven away enough talent to start sinking morale at the company. Learned he was pushed out at his last company for same intolerable behavior. Obsesses over the webcam in the conference room but has made no progress on business strategy or contributed to sales. Everyone wants the company to succeed, but wishes this jerk was replaced.

Pros

Xnor's core technology is what brings some of the most gifted machine learning and software engineers through the door. There is a palpable spirit of collaboration, problem solving, and autonomy that allows employees to do their best work. I've seen early career professionals able to flourish, seasoned professionals digging in on novel problems, and support for experimentation, organic growth, and leadership. While the work itself and the people are the foundation of what makes Xnor a rewarding place to work. On top of that however, the competitive pay, unlimited PTO/sick time, employer paid medical benefits, weekly catered lunches, commuter benefits, parental leave, and more are icing on the cake. As a startup, Xnor is making every attempt to get it right.

Cons

Depending on the type of organization you prefer working for, it could be lacking in structure or hierarchy as most large tech companies employ to maintain control/oversight. On scale from Amazon to Valve, Xnor is closer to Valve but not as extreme. I would call it a flat-ish organization with managers and senior leadership. Rapid scaling means things change fast and sometimes it can feel reactionary.

Pros

Xnor is developing cutting-edge AI technology that outperforms anything else on the market for running machine learning models on the edge. The team is super strong with many experts in ML and computer vision. Work is very flexible and exciting, engineering-driven, lots of opportunities for growth. Fun environment with a great culture.

Cons

As the company grows it will experience some growing pains, as most startups do. Product strategy is a bit scattered and sometimes leads to confusion over priorities. The company is hiring aggressively and will need to grow a lot to cover all the bases.
