Worst Company I Have Ever Encountered

Pros

There are really none worth mentioning.

Cons

Absolutely awful company from top to bottom. No direction or leadership, horrible management, poor benefits, and a ridiculously high level of spending (which is not sustainable). The company proved this by laying off the majority of their employees just 2 weeks before the holidays with absolutely no warning, no explanation, and no severance. Blindsiding employees just weeks before the holidays is one of the lowest, most baffling things I have experienced. All I can say is to stay away -- there is absolutely no reason to join a company like this.

Pros

Relaxed environment with kind people. Pay was good. If you want to only be paid and believe in making the world better it was a good opportunity. Company is just a stepping stone

Cons

Xyleco is in a very poor spot at the moment. After an interview with 60 minutes trying to sell the success of the company management made the decision to release a majority of the employees some of which had the potential to take the company to new heights. They did this by Fed Ex expressing all the termination papers in the mail. There was no severance or even a true explanation for the lay offs. Just that the company was switching to more commercial goods but all the lay offs involved supporting roles and manufacturing roles that would be needed for a not yet ready commercial process. The employees that stayed are being sold on the fact that the company is trying to switch to a more commercial outlook but the team that remains does not appear to have the ability to achieve amazing success as they are spread too thin or lacking knowledge of the next steps. However management knows that they have control over these individuals and is using that to their advantage. It appears that the employees are kept on temporarily to sell the equipment and the minimal research that the company controls to a larger organization. The communication from the management is terrible. Even the directors of the company are not involved or informed of the direction the company should be moving. I doubt the company will ever rebound or build back to the heights that it had. Other negative things about the company include: no tuition reimbursement, no retirement, no bonus, little vacation time. You are just getting a salary nothing more. Terrible CEO management, poor leadership in the CFO and CTO positions. Treated other companies poorly. No HR department. The company will lie to your face and feel nothing about it. If you can work at a company like that then this is the place for you. This company is probably going to flop in the next year.

Very troubling

Pros

There really is nothing about this company that I can say anything positive about. It was very disturbing to see all of the sad faces of my fellow workers each work day.

Cons

I made the mistake of not believing the negative Xyleco reviews on Glassdoor. I have now experienced it myself, realize the truth of those criticisms and am relieved that I resigned so I can move on to another company that has a respectful, team oriented and challenging work environment for its staff.
