Pros

Compels you to become very independent and resourceful in self-learning.

Cons

No proper processes and structure and even for those that have they are not strictly followed. Job roles and responsibilities never clearly defined often have to perform additional duties (for other departments even) because there is nobody to do them. No knowledge sharing everything have to create & learn by yourself.

Pros

• Nice colleagues (most of them) • Decent remuneration package

Cons

1) Unprofessional, lousy management • Always playing politics • Micromanage, lack of trust for employee • Delegating new task/initiatives to employees with no prior background/relevant skills set and expecting them to perform up to “standard” that are not quantified (always using qualitative expectations to manage performance), lack of training resources • Emotional, takes conflict on a personal level and showing attitude • Hurling vulgarities unnecessarily • Integrity, promising one thing to employees but doing another behind the scenes or change their • Narcissistic. Favoring and promoting incompetent employees that suck up to them, neglecting high competence employees who deserves the chance to lead. • Lack of respect for employee’s decisions, taking it personally when employee choose to leave • Tunnel vision, lack of critical thinking at different perspective, always think that they are right just because they have more years of “working experience” • Lack of foresight, always hiring people with skill sets/experience that are irrelevant, base interview performance by personal preference (looks, similar background with hiring manager themselves but not complementary to the team) 2) Ridiculous Organisational Structure • Assistant manager level do not actually lead a team, they are fully executional staffs that are only given the position to justify their high pay. • No leadership training and too much executional work to push and train assistant managers to lead a team • Lack of progression, no quantifiable KPIs, no actual KPI system to determine performance 3) Insane Workload, OT Culture • Ground level staff are handling multiple responsibilities at one go with no room for breather • No work-life balance • OT culture, management tend to value incompetent, inefficient and pretentious employees who put up a show by working overtime, and expect efficient workers to do the same. 4) Backstabbing (40% of colleagues) - a lot of backstabbing going on, particularly those that are trying to suck up to higher management. 5) Location • Located at a discreet location in Jurong, hard to access even though shuttle bus services are provided • Have to drive out for lunch or otherwise walk 10 mins to the nearest food place
