I have been working at Yarra Trams full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great work environment, my fellow drivers are my favourite thing in the job. Pay is good though I don't think it fully reflects the responsibility and stress of the job.

    Cons

Management is currently pushing hard to save money on wages and penalties paid, conflict with the union is imminent. Has really fallen behind on applying current technology.

I worked at Yarra Trams full-time

    Pros

    * Private organisation with government exposure * Well embedded structure and processes * Team culture strong * Value based organisation * Sustainability and community focus * Good training and development opportunities; if specifically relevant to your role * Ability to positively contribute to a public service

    Cons

    * Old systems - not very technically/digitally advanced * All about cost cutting - has gone too far in cost savings and struggles to provide minimum level communications. Its a race to the bottom. * Held back by lack of government investment * Very low risk taking environment, meaning very 'safe' work (i.e. tough to be innovative or cutting edge) * Lack of decision making capabilities for some roles * Not the place for you if you aren't comfortable with existing processes and strong need for stakeholder engagement
