Pros

Co workers are supportive of each other but that is where it stops. Leadership does not know how to communicate. They keep information close to the hip and that makes it difficult for employees to do their jobs effectively.

Cons

Lack of Communication, Lies, Lies, Lies, Hostile Work Environment, and Distrust. The company is extremely top heavy and they do not know what they are doing. The actual employees doing the work are not valued and are not empowered to do their jobs. Don't bother reporting anything to leadership. They are not listening and do not care. It is a sad sad place to work. Keep your current job. You will be jumping into the fire is you start working for York Space Systems.

Pros

Pay is above average. Overtime sometimes available. They occadionally buy lunches for some of the shifts and are understanding in bad weather.

Cons

This company used to care about its technicians. When hired, there was a "unlimited" vacation policy. Then we pushed into the "panama" schedule where they forced us into 12hr work days 24 hours a day and asked the technicians not to take time off to keep the "push"shorter. When we finally finished the horrible shift work, they changed us to a voted on 4x10 schedule (forcing people into shifts they didn't want, literally opposite of the requested) and people began abusing the time off policy. Instead of the company holding the abusers accountable, they up and announced, this week, that ONLY the hourly employees will be changed to an accumulative policy of 2 weeks vacation a year and one week sick time. Here's the kicker, sick time does not roll over yearly and resets to 0, in the middle of flu season.

Pros

I get to work on challenging projects with a fun, smart, enthusiastic team. There are many opportunities to learn new skills and advance. Work is mostly in person. The other negative reviews are honest, but are from the few people who quit or were fired during a hiring spree.

Cons

York does not put any effort into hiring a diverse workforce. The CEO does not allow employees to enter or exit the building through the front door. Employees must open up a gate in the back to enter through a door next to the loading dock, then climb up a dark, all black stairway with no windows. The CEO still uses the front door. The CEO planned the building's tenant improvements, and made his private bathroom the same size as the employee bathroom. People have to wait in line to relieve themselves. The building is dark and dreary inside with all black walls. Many of the other positive reviews popped up all in the same week after York started to face hiring issues due to the negative reviews on glassdoor. The positive reviews may have been influenced by management.
