Pros

Good training opportunities Good integrated approach, working with professionals from all areas, families, carers Excellent opportunities to have supervision and guidance and training from experienced staff (Psychiatrist, psychologist) High working standards for the mental health industry Actively aim to be productive instead of reactive

Cons

high stress levels among the team, particularly when there's a lack of transparency in decision making process Long working hours, pressure to do extra hours due to staffing issues. Seen a few colleagues have their own mental health deteriorate because of long working hours, have no time to see families, have relationships break down, etc Supervision can be used as a witch hunt at times Management's bias and lack of patience/willingness to educate staff Tendency to micromanage everything by management, allow limited opportunities for autonomy/independence
