Pros

They got one decent client as a lifeline and started thinking they could build their own product based on the bespoke solutions they created for customers. The bravery is top-notch. They are also always proud of their certifications and their relationship with Microsoft.

Cons

Routine layoffs (stay away). No overtime pay, even though it’s requested daily (stay away). No profitability under the current (new) business structure for the Indonesian branch. If you’re part of the Youtap Group based in New Zealand, you might still have a good career. Our team often works until 3 a.m. to meet weekly releases for clients. Payments go directly to the Youtap Group, while we bill the Youtap Group with no transparency about what percentage the Indonesian team actually receives. We don’t know whether we’re getting pennies on the dollar, despite our team working extremely hard. Indonesian top management is also clueless and defenseless against pressure from the New Zealand team.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We take comments like this seriously, particularly when they relate to employee experience and workplace practices. We want to be clear that we do not tolerate unfair labour practices, and any suggestion of this is concerning. Youtap operates across multiple regions, and we are committed to ensuring that all teams—regardless of location—are treated fairly, compensated appropriately, and supported in a sustainable working environment. That said, we acknowledge that in periods of rapid growth and delivery pressure, there have been instances where workloads and expectations have not been where they should be. This is something we are actively addressing through improved resource planning, clearer delivery timelines, and stronger local leadership support. On transparency and structure: our operating model across markets is designed to align delivery, revenue, and accountability, but we recognise the importance of clearly communicating how this works to all teams. We are working to improve visibility and understanding in this area. We also take feedback about leadership effectiveness seriously. Strengthening local management capability and ensuring teams feel supported and represented is a priority. We appreciate the contributions of our Indonesian team—they are critical to our success—and we remain focused on building a fair, high-performing, and sustainable organisation for everyone.
