Cons
Mass layoffs. Different lie for every person cut. Specifically crafted to make you blame yourself instead of their failing business. They sat in a room and manufactured excuses instead of telling the truth. That is who runs this company. The surviving team? Terrified people who learned the only way to survive is to make sure someone else goes down first. Every bug, every blocker, every show-stopper gets quietly pinned on the nearest new hire. They don't work with you. They build a case against you. Overseeing all of it is a PM who cannot read a ticket, cannot understand an estimate, and cannot explain what software is if you spotted them the first two sentences of a Wikipedia article. Confidently useless. Somehow in charge of an engineering team and their careers. You will walk in as a professional and be set up to fail before you unpack your laptop.
