No growth opportunities, no work/life balance

Pros

Hybrid if you're local. Remote if you're not. That's it.

Cons

Longest work days I've ever experienced, of my own employment or among friends. They say they believe in work life balance but for the first time in my life among my jobs and everything I hear from friends, I'm working my longest days, O/T (unpaid...) to hit deadlines, and we don't even get a half day before holidays anymore. No summer hours. Nothing. They are the furthest from work/life balance. Promises of growth only to be given more work and gone nowhere in the almost 2 years since I got those promises. High turnover due to 2 layoffs 18 months apart plus a lot of people leaving for the same empty promises I received. Used to have a great free product program that got changed to push sales in shelf.

Pros

Their products are really delicious.

Cons

I took a risk leaving my position at a large CPG company to join Zevia, but unfortunately, it did not pay off. I encountered all the challenges of working for a smaller company that's trying to play catch-up in a highly competitive market. Leadership sets aggressive deadlines, forcing the entire team to work against impossible timelines. This pressure extends to vendors, cross-functional partners, and coworkers. The result is a poor work-life balance, with overtime and weekend work becoming the norm to meet these deadlines. Zevia is so focused on achieving its company goals that employee training and support are virtually non-existent; they simply don't have time for it. I was thrown into projects I had no prior experience with, given minimal training, and a short timeline to learn. Despite requesting more training and support, I was told by my manager that Zevia is a “learn-as-you-go” company. I leaned in and did my best to learn on the job but was then criticized for not meeting expectations. This led to a toxic environment where my manager nit-picked my work and micromanaged me.
