Pros

- Started work within 45 days of application. - Make your own work hours if you're working remote. - CEO is a great guy and very knowledgeable. Most employees are friendly and willing to collaborate on projects when available. - Health/dental/vision benefits if a full-time employee. - Remote work is available depending on your contract. Most customers demand face-to-face meetings monthly. - Flexible leave, but few outside of management use it because it would cause you to get laid off.

Cons

- First 2 paychecks withheld due to company policy. - Literally 0 room for growth; you are hired to fill a contract slot, nothing more. There is no company ladder; there are consultants and there are senior consultants. Consultants will never be senior consultants due to the enormous skill divide in the job with no means to learn skills directly. - The instant a contract dies due to any number of reasons (govt pulls funds, customer has delays, etc.), you are laid off within 7 days, no heads up. All health/dental/vision benefits are canceled before you are notified you have been laid off. The only way you don't lose your job instantly is if another contract is available you can fill immediately is open, the chances of that happening are maybe 10%. - Pay is at or below industry average. No pay raises unless you excel far beyond the position you were hired in to do. No incremental raises even if employed with the company for multiple years. - Most employees at Zigabyte are family of the CEO, friends with the CEO, or have been with the company since the beginning. If you're coming in fresh, expect to be the first out anytime the company has a misstep. I watched dozens of faces come in and out of the 25~ employee company (at the time). After you see so many people come and go, you start to wonder when you're next. - Everyone works 40+ hours a week and is busy. If you're expecting anyone to coach you, or be able to job shadow to learn the ropes, don't. The company has no use for anyone who can't perform all duties on their own the instant they are hired on. You will be working totally alone most of the time, if not always for many positions. Expect to master new software overnight or lose your job in many cases. - Zigabyte is essentially a middle-man temp agency for IT Services. If you're happy with the terms of your 1-2 year dated contract, great, but you better be prepping another job the moment you get hired in.

We apologize that your experience at Zigabyte was not what we expect as a company. We would like to address some of your cons. Zigabyte employees are Consultants that are hired because of their knowledge and experience within certain areas of expertise. We have Technicians, Consultants, Senior Consultants, Principle Consultants, Project Managers, Helpdesk Technicians and many other positions. We encourage our employees to grow with us as a company and send people to outside training to expand their skillset. If a project comes to an end we always attempt to place the employee on another project. If another project is not immediately available, the employee will typically work on an internal company project or begin some type of training. Zigabyte's benefits are always, as is standard in the industry, good until the end of the month. As stated, Zigabyte pays a competitive salary for our industry and does give pay raises, spot bonuses and end of year bonuses. Our flexible PTO policy has been utilized by all of our employees at their leisure. Management rarely takes time off as they are ensuring that employees are able to enjoy their time off with family . Zigabyte was founded with the premise of giving people an opportunity. At Zigabyte, everyone is family and our employees have recommended the company to their friends. In our early years every employee was a friend of someone who worked here. They loved us so much they recruited their friends and family to work with us too. We take care of our employees and they take care of us. This is evidenced by our 93% employee retention rate. Our employees are not resources that get farmed out like cattle, they are responsible family members who all want to see the company succeed.

Pros

Little to no work for the pay

Cons

They do not care about their employees - High turn over rate - No support from management - You are just a body not a human being - No promotions or movement - They will hire outside before even considering moving up a current loyal employee

Pros

Zigabyte is a company of Human Beings, not Human Resources. We all have quirks, talents, opinions, and goals. We spend a great bit of our time wrangling with our disagreements, and then helping each other attack the problems we face together. It is a great feeling to know that there are still people who can make a living with each other without being cold, legalistic whiners. If you want to complain about your job, don't come here. If you want to make it happen with others, Find us.

Cons

We all live in different locations, so it's hard to get together for playtime, but really, I spend 40 hours a week or so with these folks by phone or email or text or telecon, so I can deal with not meeting them in a bar. Might actually be a "Pro" if you think about it.
