Pros

Fellow developers and the Project Manager are nice people, creating a positive and fun team environment\ office life.

Cons

Exploitative Placement Scheme: Hires 5-6 placements annually, pays minimum wage while billing clients exorbitant rates. Placements end up principal developing significant projects for pennies, effectively funding the company while higher management simultaneously burns project budgets and valuable time on pointless activities. Competence Seems Unvalued/Unnoticed: Management doesn't appear to particularly value or even notice competence. Any progression feels more tied to 'time served' than actual skill or contribution, and there's no meaningful recognition, bonus, or other reward for being capable. Deceptive Management & CEO: Initial friendliness is a mask. Expect lies and false promises, especially regarding return offers and the company's financial health. They promised our group return offers were likely just weeks before cutting 80% of us with zero transparency. Dishonest Hiring/Firing: Return offers are rare. Strong evidence they filter out or cut placements needing visas last-minute under vague pretenses (happened across multiple cohorts). Two who did get offers were fired months later. Abysmal Technical Standards: Work is redundant, relying on hacking together old, poor-quality code from an outsourced Indian team mixed with rushed code from inexperienced placements. Quality control is non-existent. Mostly reusing the same basic concepts repeatedly. Unsustainable Business: Sales consistently overpromises, leading to rushed, low-quality deliveries. The core business seems to be repackaging the same inadequate solutions. The company appears to be financially dying despite the huge margins on placement labor, likely due to incompetent higher management and investor pressure milking it dry. Unfair to Everyone: Junior developers are exploited. Clients are likely overpaying for solutions built by minimum-wage trainees using hacked-together code. ZERO BENEFITS EXCEPT THE 1 POUND "TREATS BOX" IN THE OFFICE

False Promises

Pros

Everyone was really nice and helpful, with a great cohort of placements and knowledgeable developers, although some have since left. I learned a lot and had a supportive line manager who helped me grow.

Cons

I experienced false promises from the company, which ultimately left me without a job. Similar to some other reviews, I was offered a position after my placement year, set to commence after I completed my degree. Out of the six placement students, five were offered positions, but one by one, those offers were retracted, and in the end, only two were employed. Despite having over 13 months to inform me of the change, the company waited until just two weeks before my start date to notify me, after I had already resigned from my current role—leaving me without a job. I shared my response on my LinkedIn profile, to which the CEO replied: "We have subsequently reviewed our process of offering roles one year ahead of the return to ensure that no future Placement returners are impacted in the same way. Words are cheap but you are an extremely committed and impressive individual, and I am sure that you will quickly find success." my response is, words are cheap. Job offers mean nothing here and the claim of a reviewed process to prevent this from recurring feels as hollow as their initial promises. Once trust is broken, it cannot be restored with more empty promises. My advice to students considering a placement here: be very wary of a company that cannot keep its promises. Even with their assurances of improvement, I wouldn't rely on it.
