During my onboarding, I received a old iphone to be used as corporate phone. The company then told me that during their corporate phone renewal, they will get a new phone. I was fine with it. However, they had intentionally sent me a email to help them choose a corporate phone model and colour during their phone plan renewal. After the selection, they sent me an invoice and told me to pay for it. All this are tracked and recorded in the emails. During my notice period, I had asked if they could refund me the corporate phone money which I was previously billed since I will be returning the phone back to the company on my last day. Based on my experience, I was uncomfortable with how the situation was handled. It was very unprofessional. I end up was made to pay on behalf of this company as the company had no intention to pay me back that few hundreds when they took over the phone on my last day.
