Pros

Great benefits, payed hourly, great discount, and a large percent of repeat clients that you get to build a great relationship with.

Cons

I have been working at bebe for over 10 years, This is an extremely bad place to work and I wouldn't recommend this job to anyone. This company is all about loss prevention controll, You are forced to discriminate against your clients daily in fear that theft may occur which can result in lost of your job. This is the expectations from the top down. You get absolutely no hours to work with, operations and loss pervention is 90 percent of your day. You are scheduled to do overnight floor moves, expected to take weekly conference calls on your days off. Corporate just can't seem to figure out that operations takes away from client service and results in poor sales.

Worked in corporate LA office, not the best environment

Pros

Great building to work in and nice outdoor area to eat and take a break from the day. Like most jobs you find the people you like and get along with and work well with which make the long days easier. Great discount on clothes and sample sales (when they happen) are only open to corporate employees.

Cons

Parking is first come first serve. If you are late, good luck finding street parking in the LA neighborhoods. Although the company is trying to make an effort to head in the right direction, I believe their faith in upper management is abysmal. Problems stem from the top, not the bottom. Instead of superiors trying to strengthen and grow their subordinates, they demean them or micromanage and lose sight of focusing on the bigger tasks at hand.

Avoid bebe corporate until sold off or bankrupt

Pros

Everyone is miserable with one another.

Cons

With several different executive leaders and board members in the past few years, the design and vision of the company has altered on several occasions. The company employees are not in the best interest of anyone leading the company, with several benefits like bonuses and promotions dwindling for us every year. We were just advised that the bonus program is now eliminated for most employees. Every time new management is hired, it is tired leadership from other failing companies that have poor vision of their own. Design team has substantial talent but but no thanks to their leadership, and the current merchandising leadership is unimpressive as well.

Looks like it's time for you to move on. From my experience, people who are this unhappy with their employer go find other jobs. Good for both you and the company.
