Pros

Concept of the key product is a great as it helps companies visualize their energy usage and try to help reduce costs and emissions. Many of the employees were lovely people and fantastic to work with.

Cons

For a small company very top heavy, lots of directors and managers with very few staff doing the work. Teams of 2 -3. It is a small company tried to expand globally but then get in to financial difficulty because of poor sales. Despite being an IT company many tasks were very labor intensive so did not scale well. Software is very large and bloated and can be difficult to master. Many sections are written for one customer in mind and do not apply easily to others. This is not fault of developers who are wonderful but as a result of a series of knee jerk direction changes based on poor decisions by directors. In the past some rushed releases of the software that have not addressed existing bugs and created a whole heap of new bugs because of top down pressure to release the software on an arbitrary date. Dubious HR practices in relationship to how staff are allowed to apply for internal positions, how staff on contracts are treated, how staff are selected for redundancy, how job descriptions are changed. Directors often ignored employees concerns and grievances resulting in a huge turn over of staff for such a small company. This high turnover did leave lots of opportunity for promotion but only if you were allowed to apply for the position. Poor investment in tools and hardware, the company is an IT company but was running 5+ year old servers, investment kept getting delayed to the next financial year. Customer support priority tended to be either the customer that screamed the loudest or the customer that payed the most money.

Comments from management - We are sad to read a review that has been written so inaccurately and wish to correct many of the items listed here. eSight's Server infrastructure is brand new and massive investment has been made in a high power, state of the art data warehouse. Software has been specifically designed to be globally scalable and all releases are designed so that only globally applicable functionality is included in any release. eSight Energy is an 'Investor in People' and takes HR concerns extremely seriously. We are proud that our staff turnover is extremely low, not as represented above (we have not had anybody leave the entire group since early 2014). We encourage our staff to apply for internal promotion, as we understand that moving up in an organization enables personal development which is key to ongoing job contentment. The company is extremely financially stable and reporting strong growth in sales again this year, with this financial year on track to be our strongest year on record.

Pros

I'm still an employee at eSight and wanted to provide a review on how I find things. Pros for me are: 1. Good flexibility on work/life balance 2. Very social company with a great mix of people 3. Good pay with good annual increases and bonus opportunities 4. Some good changes over the past year or so regarding overall policies (dress code, working from home, vacation, benefits etc) Some great new projects coming up which everybody's excited to work on as a team, and the general morale is really strong due to good financial performance, and everybody being revved up about the new projects we're all working on together.

Cons

At times it can be a bit too busy and as a smaller company we do get pulled into helping with many different things - sometimes this can be great for diversity, but at other times it can mean a lot of task switching rapidly which can be hard at times.

Pros

Great product with excellent customer focus. Flexible and casual working. Good pay and internal promotions. Great holidays and attitude towards personal needs. Industry leader and a great reference name to have on your CV

Cons

Complex software product that takes some in depth training to understand. Had a few past issues with some staff causing problems but they have since gone and working atmosphere is now amazing again.
