Pros

Some on-site car parking available Free alcohol on fridays Some amenities in the office Not much else that I can think of

Cons

Management is very poor and unfair Lack of ethic and moral conduct within HR team Highly overworked with no recognition or over time Non flexible working hours or work from home arrangements even during the peak of Covid lockdowns There was a positive Covid case within the office and they did not let a worker stay home due to his fears of infecting his pregnant wife. The CEO Susan Beling did not acknowledge or empathise with the workers genuine request to work from home. The CEO did not abide by NSW health guidelines in managing Covid and forced the workers to work in an unhygienic workplace where no safety practices were in place. I could go on and on about the cons but management overall is extremely poor as they treat their workers in an inhumane and unjust manner

Thank you for taking the time to provide your comments. Feedback from past and present employees is really valuable for us to identify where we can improve and it also gives prospective candidates a better understanding of what it is like to work here. With that in mind, I would like to take the opportunity to provide clarity about some of your concerns. As a logistics company, efm is an essential service and it’s critical that we remain fully functioning to maintain the smooth-running of Australia’s supply chains despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is very important to us to protect people’s health and safety, particularly in this environment. Accordingly, we have developed and have been compliant with COVIDSafe Plans as required by VIC and NSW State Governments. As you may be aware, on several occasions, after receiving an anonymous phone call from a team member, NSW Police undertook unplanned COVIDSafe inspections of the Pyrmont office and each time found that we have appropriate controls in place to keep our team safe and to limit the spread of the virus. I would also like to make clear that while there was a positive COVID-19 case within the team, that individual was on annual leave from before their exposure and subsequent infectious period and did not return to the office until after they were fully cleared by the NSW Department of Health. In regard to other statements you make, I appreciate that efm is not for everyone. We expect a high degree of discretionary effort to deliver on our customer promise of no better experience. We are immensely grateful for the efforts of our team and compensate them with competitive salaries, a strong, collaborative team environment and significant career growth opportunities. In all of our practices, including particularly our engagement with our people we adhere to the principles of fairness, transparency and consistency. So the other cons you mention are concerning to me as they are at odds with what we set out to achieve. I see that you are a current employee, so if you would like to discuss this so I can better understand what you are referring to and determine if further investigation is required, please contact me. I will be more than happy to make the time to speak with you. - efm

Pros

- The people there are friendly and extremely hard working for the most part - Can learn to adapt under high pressure environment and develop useful time management skills (Only if you are willing to work hard and thrive in your role) - Free food provided by the company from time to time - Decent location and some staff parking available - There is room for progression and ability to change departments, however the from previous experiences, some managers of certain departments may not like seeing their staff change departments and will try to prevent staff from achieving their growth.

Cons

- High and unrealistic expectations from staff - Lower ranked staff do not receive enough credit for their hard work in the front lines, whereas management and more senior staff members receive all the credit. - CEO and board of directors do not value employee health and safety. During the peak of COVID in the Sydney 2021, most staff members were not given the option to work from home. A staff member in the Sydney office had COVID and everyone was a close contact. However CEO and management still did not allow WFH for all staff members in the office, who were COVID close contacts and did not bother to even deep clean the office. Abysmal code of conduct and morals on behalf of the CEO. - Lack of inclusive culture in work place and big divide between departments. - Limited flexibility and no employee benefits - Lack of structure in organisation and no proper training provided to new starters. - Too many unnecessary meetings, which cause further back log of work load for overworked employees who are striving to meet the utterly high expectations of management.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and in particular taking the time to highlight all the aspects you enjoy about efm. We certainly believe our people are one of our best assets and I’m glad you have had a positive experience with your peers. I would like to take the time to address some of the other points you make. - Firstly, in regard to COVID-19, it’s important to note that as a logistics company, efm is an essential service. Accordingly, we have developed and have been compliant with COVIDSafe Plans as required by VIC and NSW State Governments. - As you may be aware, NSW Police undertook unplanned COVIDSafe inspections and found that we have appropriate controls in place. Similarly, WorkSafe Victoria made unplanned site inspections of the Moorabbin office and each time found we had appropriate controls in place to keep our team safe and to limit the spread of the virus. Our VIC and NSW COVID responses were similar. - I would also like to make clear that while there was a positive COVID-19 case within the team, that individual was on annual leave from before their exposure and subsequent infectious period and did not return to the office until after they were fully cleared by the NSW Department of Health. - I agree that providing recognition where it’s due – across all levels of the business - is really important. That’s why we’ve recently launched the quarterly Standout Awards for team members, which is in addition to the monthly Shout-outs in the newsletter and our annual Business Awards. - We have significantly updated how we onboard new starters and will be launching the new induction program early next year. Please be assured that I and the rest of the management team sincerely value the efforts of our people every day. I’ve heard your feedback we will take this into consideration as we continue to evolve as an organisation. Wishing you all the best in the next chapter of your career. - efm

Basically everything else Overworked, undertrained, high expectations that majority of the team does not achieve. Resulting in constant disappointment. Pointless meetings. Sub par group training that offered no benefit

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. The post says that you are a current employee, however our location is noted as Glen Waverley, when we’ve been in our Moorabbin office for 20 months. It makes me think that perhaps you have some outdated information. So I’d like to update you of a few of the initiatives we have underway that go towards addressing the points you make: • More than 12 months ago we launched a Learning and Development framework which maps training requirements by role and encourages dialogue between team members and their manager regarding development needs and interests. • This year we developed a refreshed Induction program to further support new starters, which we will be launching early next year. We have also engaged an Onboarding Development Lead to continue the growth and development of our team. • To help our team manage the challenges caused by COVID-19 we have reviewed all meetings and reduced them to only the essential business meeting during this time. If you are a current employee and would like to discuss, please remember that there are a number of people you can bring your feedback to: your Manager, People and Performance and even me. - efm
