Pros

There are a lot of great colleagues and opportunities to learn and grow. Since the environment is changing a lot you get used to change quite fast. If you want to try things out and take initiative there is room for that. You will meet a lot of great people with a lot of passion, even though usually people don’t stay that long. But that all comes at a price that I will explain below.

Cons

A couple of ex-colleagues have told me how eloomi is trying to get good reviews on this site, which made me do this review. I hope the negative feedback on glassdoor will be heard. Company strategy It feels like the company is changing "strategy" weekly. And if they don’t change something they will sell it to you as something new at every chance they get. One crucial thing here is that it feels like everything has to be rushed without considering long-term success. This has been going on for the last 2 years at least and the results of that are becoming visible more and more. The lack of strategy has not only caused some canceled projects but also some canceled contracts of great employees. Leadership Leadership is built of two types. The new ones who want to change and improve things and the old ones who don’t seem like they are going to change even though they are the reason why people are leaving. I would have wished the new ones would be given more power to implement change. They have the social skills and empathy to lead a company. The old ones proved on several occasions that they are not capable of that. Way of working They call it agile. I call it running around like a headless chicken. The number of times we had to shut down a project because they want to make money short-term is crazy. This has a lot to do with the lack of strategy. You can waste hours of your day because you suddenly get summoned to a meeting. The lack of competence of some people in leadership doesn't help. Way of communicating The CEO is creating this toxic and fearful culture with their posts on teams and he communicates that way at gatherings too. I have heard multiple times that people were threatened to be replaced if they don’t say yes to everything by some in leadership. They are old-fashioned and don’t trust their employees. My impression is also that there is gender discrimination going on, where women are not perceived as equally capable which is disturbing to see for everyone. Covid The way the company handled covid was ridiculous. Making people come to the office during a pandemic is just plain stupid. The communication about it wasn’t any better. Leadership was hiding cases and was pushing away responsibility even though they approved of a party that was organized during the pandemic. All for the eloomi vibe. eloomi vibe There is this constant pressure to create some sort of vibe. It feels artificial and if you don’t take part in it you will hear about it. It has some similarities to a cult. Telling people all the time how great the vibe is doesn’t create it. It is something that has to come from the bottom up and is facilitated by leadership. This self-praise about how great it is to work at eloomi is disgusting and repelling and you will get drowned by it at every company-wide meeting. Benefits Sodas in a fridge, Friday Bars, or working in a football stadium are no benefits. Company paid pension, a company paid phone, or flexible hours are (they expect people to arrive between 08.30 and 9.00 which doesn’t count as flexible). These benefits you will not find at this point at eloomi. Leadership should look up the definition of benefits and start to act like a company that wants to be taken seriously and not just some startup in a garage. Grow up. Salary The salaries are very low and you have to fight for getting a raise. At first, you will probably think that there is a lot to learn and salary is not as important. But after 6-12 months you have learned all you need and then you will start to feel like you are betrayed, because of the value you add to the business and how little you get back. If you apply for a job at eloomi despite all the negative things I would suggest strongly getting a thick skin to endure the pressure and fear that is spread within the company and that you will have an exit plan if things don’t change. There is a huge potential, but they need to act now.

We would like to thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We have reviewed your feedback in detail, including with our management and CEO, as we always do with feedback we receive, in line with the guidelines stated in our code of conduct. We are truly sorry that your experience with us did not match our intention to be the best place you have ever worked. We welcome your feedback and address all the places we missed to deliver a great experience for you. Thanks for your advice too. We have several mechanisms in place that allow for a constant flow of employee feedback, including monthly team meetings with HR, quarterly anonymous engagement surveys and quarterly ONEtalk discussions with your manager. Any feedback suggesting unacceptable behaviour is immediately investigated. Our past years strategies have been very clear and transparent to everyone in eloomi, and we have delivered fully on these, which everyone in eloomi should be proud of. Some elements have been adapted along the way as we have become smarter in the implementation, but it has always been for the best and for the greatest possible success. Change can often create uncertainty and confusion, and this is something we take very seriously. Our management team is today made up of many skills, that strengthen the overall management team. The management is very focused on having a good culture, transparent and good communication, that includes everyone. We will do our best to make this even more visible. Being in a fast-growing software company means that you will often experience agility or change. It also requires that you are prepared for changes where it makes sense, but also that these changes are explained and communicated correctly, which we take note of. We have recently taken this are into account in our recruitments and in our ongoing employee development discussions, so that there is a reconciliation of expectations that should not lead to misunderstandings or broken expectations. We strongly distance ourselves from the fact that there is a toxic and fearful culture, and demand of working onsite in COVID-19 pandemic - including that there should be hidden cases, bad information and a lack of flexibility, and would like to encourage you to a direct dialogue with HR so that we can ensure that any misunderstandings are clarified, and we can learn from your experiences. We have a very transparent information sharing and communication in eloomi, and understand that this sometimes can give rise to misunderstandings, and we have therefore recently adapted our communications and information channels to ensure this becomes more specific. We have always had a behaviour where we would rather give too much information than a lack of information for the employees which can lead to uncertainty, and we will have that in the future as well. We also have a very operational management and we do not want to distance themselves from the employees, because we strongly believe in an open and transparent culture. In the future, we will be more aware of whether this may cause problems for some. We are incredibly happy with the culture in eloomi, which has been created by the majority of our skilled and dedicated employees, who come to work happy every single day and see a good future in this. We recently reviewed all salaries and benefits and are happy that we are at a good level that matches both the competence and results of our talented employees. It is sometime difficult to quantify what value is created, but we have a very strong focus on this, and have recently expanded a large number of benefits at the start of this financial year. We would also like to encourage you to dialogue with our HR department so that we better understand your points of appeal and can address them correctly. Otherwise, we will strive to do our best so that you will experience a good company like many others and that matches your expectations.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate that and we take it seriously. Toxic management is under no circumstances something we can accept, and we have clear implemented guidelines in our code of conduct to ensure that this does not happen. We will make sure to address this area immediately and ensure it complies with our guidelines. We wish you all the best. We have several mechanisms in place that allow for a constant flow of employee feedback, including monthly team meetings with HR, quarterly anonymous engagement surveys and quarterly ONEtalk discussions with your manager. Any feedback suggesting unacceptable behaviour is immediately investigated. We have a strong focus on life-work balance, and recently we have expanded it further so that it is now possible to work from anywhere in the region and keep your current salary etc. This has happened based on the requests from the employees, which we have naturally met. As an employee, you have 3 options, either onsite, hybrid or remote. We do not force people to come into the office, and we have strong COVID-19 and flu policies in place. Furthermore, we have quarterly employee development meetings for career plans and provide access to all the training our staff need for their careers. We are proud that in the past year we have appointed more than 10% of our employees to new positions and moved into managers roles. We strongly believe in employee development. We have a clear strategy, both for the company, but also for the business units, which we adhere to year after year and ensure that we continue to grow our business, e.g., the past year by no less than 45%. In terms of pay, we can be compared with the rest of the industry, which our HR department and People team, continuously ensures we compare ourselves to. Everyone has access to pension schemes, and in Denmark where the issues can be around some dates, we give up to 5 extra days for free on top of the normal holiday leave - to everyone, which can be used to e.g., take time off on days that are not public holidays, such as Christmas Eve in Denmark.
