Pros

goBalto is a great company that is poised for big things. The staff has the highest morale and positivity of any company. Upper management will read email and chat correspondences, ask for reports on negative employees, and punish employees whose morale is low and is negative about the company. Sometimes, the upper management works a little harder on the lost sheep to bring it back to the flock, often by threatening it to behave. The WFH policy is fantastic. goBalto generously allow one WFH day a month. Some like it so much that they work from their homes, on the weekend. The work-life balance is also amazing. Only 80% of the staff has to occasionally work off-hours. But they really enjoy doing so because not many have complained. Employees work hard and goBalto likes to reward them with the opportunity to have all the fun that President Grant can afford them, once a quarter. Furthermore, goBalto awards an employee of the quarter, who are chosen by their fellow coworkers. That winner is rewarded with a luxurious package of an orange vest, cash, and a pass to cut the lunch line. How can you beat that? What? With a raise or more stock options? Don’t be silly.

Cons

Some employees can be a little negative. There was a meeting about morale, which was allowed by goBalto. Employees were so negative about upper management and the company, that no further morale meetings occurred, employee monitoring had to be started, the HR of the company had to be forced out, and punishment for negativity ensued. Some employees can be a little nosy. goBalto allows employees to vote amongst themselves for an employee of the quarter. However, it was never stated that upper management cannot veto the votes. Thus, upper management may exercise this executive privilege to ignore the votes and pick a winner. That is what all great leaders do! However, some employees managed to find out and had the audacity to be angry about it. So strange! Some employees can be a little gloomy. When goBalto liberally reduced the WFH days from two days a month to one. Many complaints were made. Of course the employees did not understand that upper management needs them to come into the office while they are away on lunch dates with prosperous men. Some people fail to see the future rewards for a few in the company, through the tiring hard work of the many. Some employees can be a little ungrateful. Over half of the company has reported that they would not recommend goBalto to their friend or family. goBalto pays ok wage, cater 60% of the lunches, and allow PTO. The least that employees can do is recommend goBalto to a stranger or an enemy.

Pros

- Very relaxed, collaborative at the team level - Possibility to legitimately make a positive difference to the world - Delicious lunch 3 times a week - Happy hour is great

Cons

- Completely substandard salary - Very expensive health insurance - Very low (legal minimum I believe) PTO allowance - Laser focus on single customer who is quite clearly just stringing the company along - Complete lack of trust towards the team with respect to WFH etc. - Sick days eat into PTO rather then allowing for weekend work to adjust - The concept of raises/promotions does not exist

Pros

Good staff except upper management

Cons

Higher management in all departments is big problem. You do not get credit for the work you do instead it is credited to someone else who is likely more attached to the higher management staff.Higher management do not know how to utilize talent in areas where individual can excel and just keeps the customers from dreaming about what can be done even if they do not have any clue.
