Pros

big office, big names, big ideas.

Cons

NOT GETTING PAID! The management lies. HR lies, Leadership Lies. Promises broken over and over. The next 'big investor' is just around the corner. 2 years of broken promises on reviews and pay raises. 30 days without getting paid, no warning, insurance canceled without warning. 10 people have resigned in the first 3 month of this year!

Pros

Decent pay, average benefits. Great place to learn everything not to do as a company.

Cons

I was at this company for nearly 3 years and we accomplished nothing. Mainly because there is a serious leadership problem and a lack of strategy. "Incompetent" would be a polite way of describing the CEO, Chandra Rathakrishnan. He's good at one thing: raising money and spending it. It's well documented in the press that this company has raised over $117 million, and sadly there is nothing to show for it. He makes lots of promises and doesn't follow through on any of them. It's no secret that Chandra is the cancer of i.am+ and sadly, everyone in the company knows it. This company once had great potential and that was squandered because of Chandra's embarrassing behavior to constantly repeat the same mistakes of the past.

Pros

This company has some great engineers and designers. A lot of original and awesome ideas are conceived on the teams. The teams work hard and are very proud of what they produce.

Cons

Management, and senior leadership are inept and there is a LOT of infighting and backstabbing. Teams are often pitted against each other to produce the same products, and the best is used. This is always behind each teams back and one is unaware that the other is duplicating their work. I've seen senior managers in meetings have full blown arguments bordering on violence & with no shortage of F-bombs, personal insults, and swearing. The senior leadership are bipolar at best. It's a Machiavellian environment - they often contradict themselves, pursue agendas in secret (see above) and blatantly blame the engineers & feature teams for failures which are clearly attributable to themselves. They are so out of touch with the team structures that they often don't know how many people are on a team (it's not that big of a company, these are things they should know). There is no communication from the top down, and then respond with incredulity when objectives are not met because of "lack of communication". "Monthly" all-hands meetings occur at 6-month intervals - and are often a point & blame exercise. Threatening to fire individuals that don't adhere to the company's vague and non-specific goals is a new feature of their fire & brimstone approach to management. They make the Trump Administration look vaguely capable.
