1. The Bangalore office of irely is managed by manager “KR” for the past 2 decades or so. I would like to provide few pointers on the management practices going on in Bangalore’s office.
2. The positive reviews given here are made by the company’s HRs and the new Joiners, who have been told to do so. On reading the positive reviews one can see that these reviews lack any dept and substance. After one bad review anyone can see a flurry of Positive reviews that follow it. This is done to push the negative review down the pecking order and to keep a good rating overall.
3. The management approach of KR is not just overbearing; it’s toxic to the point of undermining employee’s physical and mental well-being. He never appreciates people for all the hard work they put in given the conditions, the employees work in but instead always accuses them at the first sign of trouble. It is not a mark of a good leader in the company. A good leader never puts unnecessary accusations on his/her employees.
4. His despotic mindset creates a culture where only yes men thrive, suffocating diverse perspectives and stifling discussions.
5. The one-sided nature of conversations under his leadership promotes an echo chamber, where constructive feedback is met with disdain.
6. Project timelines are unrealistic, constant task are added, jeopardizing the quality of work and leave employees drowning in stress. His mentality is, if the company is paying you salary then you should be given this stress.
7. This relentless pressure, coupled with a complete lack of empathy, reveals a profound ignorance about human psychology His assertion that there should be no boundaries between personal and professional lives is not only absurd but also fundamentally damaging. Employees are expected to sacrifice their well-being for an organization.
8. Instead of fostering a collaborative environment that understands the complexities of the challenges faced in a project, there is a reactive approach which is followed here which means merely throwing more resources at problems , making people work over weekends without actually addressing problems root causes. This organization is always in a fire fighting mode.
9. Yearly Vacations quota offered to an employee is only on paper, but the project timelines are so tight that one cannot avail them. Employees are made to feel bad about the personal time off they take.
10. It’s clear that KR has spent his entire career in this company without evolving his management philosophies. This stagnation has led to a toxic environment that not only hampers employee morale but also threatens the long-term viability of the organization. Immediate change is needed to restore a healthy, productive environment
