Pros

Newer office, causal work environment, latest technology, big/international clients, excellent learning potential for entry level.

Cons

ion is not for everyone; it's sneaky, unprofessional, and stressful. It's no coincidence that every review here was written in the same two weeks . I'm sure their stars dropped significantly and they asked staff write positive reviews to raise their stars for glassdoor / hiring purposes. Once I read these reviews and laughed, I decided to write a truthful review about this place and the people that work there. Here is my honest review of ion interactive... I had the pleasure of working on their sales team for a year. Working on their sales team is like building Fords on a machine floor. Everything is methodical and must be done a certain way. Scripted emails, phone calls, demos, follow ups etc... All day everyday! If you deviate from this, you'll quickly be discovered and explain yourself. Also, everything you do is being recorded. I've had actual meetings to review my emails; asking why I said certain things in my follow ups that was not pre approved in the follow up scripts. Best part, having management listen in on your calls not only to "help" you, but to make you feel that you can't close properly. The constant listen when spoken to attitude, and the ability not to contribute anything creatively got old very quickly. It was BIG BOTHER all the way. As for the culture here, you'll find some of the most unprofessional and social inept people here. The office in Florida is run by women who treat the place like a sorority house. News of engagements, dates, and babies are more celebrated then winning a client. Gossip filled the halls and it was like high school all over again. It was sad to see how grown adults would act like they were 16 during social functions. Probably a reason why all social functions for the company are mainly on premise and not in public... My favorite part of employment was when 13 people at ion either were fired or left on their own accord in a period of 6 months ion 2012. ion is the time of place where if you try to be innovative on your own or if you're not fitting in socially - you'll get a phone call from the owner not to return to work the following day. If you plan to give two weeks notice, you'll be asked to leave immediately and never return. I wasn't even allowed to get my personal stuff, they mailed it to me... Everyone that works a management / VP role at ion has been there from the beginning and has very little (if any) outside work experience. If you come to ion as a seasoned professional, you'll hate this place. My advice to entry level grads that want to learn the space - take advantage of learning here to get your next job. ion strictly sold landing page optimization solutions in the past, but now are selling 'marketing apps" - good for them. They needed a change as this was a service everyone had already. Maybe things have changed from a product standpoint, but from a managerial/culture standpoint - good luck.

Pros

ion is located near mizner, the location of the office is nice and there is a lot around the area.

Cons

the management is weak, the pay isn't good and it is very clicky. I see people get fired for personal reasons, which puts everyone in the office on edge. We don't want to make the wrong person mad and end up without a job. You can tell all employees are in fear of the unexpected, because management doesn't make anything clear. You never know if one day you will be praised, or the next repremanded.

Pros

Cool modern office, catered lunches a couple days out of the week, walk to the beach.

Cons

Weak female driven management. Using scare tactics to get work done. Turnover rate was unreal, from the time I started no department remained remotely the same as far as staffing. People drop like flies.
