Pros

A lot of fun activities, it operating as an amusement park of creatives.

Cons

Months after i was hired, I was told that a higher up in the company had saw my picture on google and thats why I was hired. Then i was constantly being sexually harassed by that individual, after I went to HR several times... I was let go and asked to take a pay off not to say anything. Then to find out at least several other girls that had this happen to them from the same person.

Pros

-Some of the people working at MOCEAN are genuinely the most supportive, creative, and well-rounded people in the industry. -The office spaces have fun perks, and the company culture is warm if not cheesy. -There is some very excellent leadership. There is some that is severely lacking. -Vending machines were very nice. -They work on very cool projects and franchises. There are great learning experiences here.

Cons

-Some of the employees can be extremely rude to the lower level employees. Some have an outdated mentality of being rude to others because their bosses were rude to them. -Every receptionist that I know that has come through MOCEAN has been asked to and pressured into house sitting for the President, Michael. The pay is low, and he uses lower-level employees for cheap personal labor. -Sexual assault and harassment are rumors with validity. -Harsh working conditions, extremely long hours, and a prioritization of clients over mental health. -Extremely disloyal company. You are expendable. The President will tell you to your face that you are in no danger of being let go, and a week later, you'll be let go without so much as a goodbye from the President. -Low pay compared to industry standard -Emphasizes diversity for the sake of social reward, but tokenizes BIPOC employees without any actual change or result

Pros

-There are kind hearted artists at mOcean, trying to make the most quality product they can. -Artists, especially in graphics and editing, loved answering questions and trying to get people involved. -Projects that creative staff work on are cool

Cons

-The managers have NO IDEA what they are doing, but have a high sense of entitlement. -My manager has lectured and belittled me on multiple occasions. Probably the #1 reason I quit. Other people made weird comments towards me, out of their own anger problems and complaining that had nothing to do with work. Not a good work place vibe. -There is ZERO communication between departments as well as within departments. -The pay here is HORRIBLE. I was lead to believe that this was the industry standard, but once starting at a new studio at the same position making SO MUCH more; I knew mOcean was the problem. -The hours are SUPER INSANE. Once again, I was lead to believe this was normal, but I found out soon enough from other studios and colleagues that it is NOT. (of course hours change, but here it was with no warning and no care about you as an individual). -People are severely OVERWORKED for the compensation and work hours. People taken advantaged of. -For me, it was a misleading job with ever changing job duties. Know your own worth, spend your time wisely, DONT WORK HERE. Quitting was the best thing I ever could have done and lead me to an amazing career at a thoughtful, fun and creative company. Everything I had thought mOcean to be, but wasn’t. Most people I knew and still know at mOcean aren’t happy there and also want to leave. Not a good sign. Their turnover is VERY HIGH for a reason.
