Pros
You can add customer service skills to your resume but that’s about it.
Cons
Look elsewhere for a job—yes, even in this economy. The call center is extremely understaffed so you will be overwhelmed with the amount of calls and follow-up tasks you have to do. Management themselves seldom take calls so you will not receive support in that department. Do not let yourself be sold on the work from home aspect of the job. You will need to have your camera on unless you are on lunch or break. You will quite literally need to ask them for permission to turn your camera off if you need to stand up because you need something that is near you or to stretch. At least in a cubicle you don’t have to explain needing to stretch because you’ve been sitting in the same spot for hours. Management also goes by a PIP system. That should tell you everything you need to know about the job. Getting written up because you were late by 1 minute and having that “on your file” for an entire year from the date of when that point was given is non-sensible & gives employees little room to grow. Seems like management has favorites as well. I have experienced getting corrected on things while other coworkers who would make the same mistakes would not get corrected at all. They will try to push you out of the job. There is a reason why there is a high turn around rate for this job. Beware.
