We appreciate that you've taken the time to give us a bit of feedback on your experience at parcelLab. Our culture is a continuous priority for us, and we value the sense of community and connection that our company trips, team off-sites, and in-person offices help provide to our employees. Gathering everyone together always energizes our team and allows us to lean into the joy, teamwork, and equality that comes from working with our colleagues who possess different experiences and viewpoints - we're glad to hear you were able to be a part of this while you were here. While our restructuring was a necessary business decision, it was not one that we took lightly. We are grateful for the contributions you undoubtedly made to the team and we wish you a future full of success.

Good Pay & Colleagues, but Poor Leadership & Direction

Pros

Competitive salary and good benefits. High-quality equipment and tools provided. Engineers are generally friendly, collaborative, and helpful.

Cons

The company promotes a friendly and inclusive culture, but beneath the surface, leadership is fragmented and disconnected. Micromanagement is prevalent within the Product and Engineering teams, creating a restrictive work environment. Hire and fire mentality is in total contrast to the parcel crew culture that is promoted Mid-level managers struggle to provide meaningful guidance due to the lack of strong leadership/mentoring from the senior leadership team. Ideas are often dismissed, not due to merit, but because of poor social skills and a lack of empathy at the leadership level. Decision-making feels reactive and unstructured, leading to chaotic, knee-jerk changes rather than strategic growth.

You could safely say I wouldn't work here again

Pros

- Salary - The team

Cons

- Leadership lacked clarity: priorities and expectations constantly changed, making it hard to deliver. - Unstable management: frequent C-suite/management changes caused repeated strategy resets and chaos. - Employees caught in the middle: new leaders criticised previous leadership decisions and teams were “punished” for work they didn’t choose. - Scope creep: teams were regularly asked to do work outside their role with little structure or ownership. - Top-heavy, ego-driven culture: decisions were controlled by a small group with limited openness to feedback. - Unequal recognition: Sales was prioritised and rewarded, while other teams were largely overlooked.
