Pros

There are no pros here

Cons

They treat the people they are taking care of like a burden. So many loopholes and formalities for everything. I got in trouble for taking a man I was supporting to the Dr for a foot injury on my own time and didn't charge for it. Got in trouble because he could have taken the bus on his own. These people are heartless.

Pros

The ability to work and help ppl with development, mental disabilities and challenges including seniors in their respective communities.

Cons

Sexist company, management full of hatred against minority men in specific. Some men I know of have contemplated suicide. When I told them I was leaving they fed lies to my ex coworkers that eventually became my besties. If your looking to get hated upon, beat, discriminated against this may be the place for you. FYI this company is unionized and the union member takes company side.

Pros

- Supportive co-workers (this is really dependent on the program you're placed at) - Good entry level experience if you wish to go further in the Social Services industry - Room for growth if you have higher education - Tons of internal postings

Cons

- Some programs have higher rates of aggression compared to others. Be mindful of which program you work at - Staffing issues; they always seem to be short on staff - Monotonous work. This could be a personal preference but I couldn't do this full-time. Casual shift schedules are enough for me
